Global Tools and Storage (GTS) is looking for a Production Supervisor for night shift who will oversee our production operations, will guarantee that manufacturing remains a smooth and efficient process by monitoring employees and organizing workflows. In a fast-paced environment like production, the supervisor is an integral part of the manufacturing process. Candidate must comprehend complex operations and be able to optimize day-to-day activities while minimizing the costs. This individual will report to the Value Stream Manager.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyze production plan in a daily basis and coordinate resources to meet objectives and schedules in the production lines.

  • Develops a work plan by defining priorities and sequences according to resources.

  • Ensures compliance with Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People measures and achievement of goals through continuous improvement.

  • Supports continues improvement philosophy driving lean manufacturing principles.

  • Contributes to the 5S program by performing monthly audits and following up on the implementation of the program in the production lines. Sets a 5S mindset.

  • Ensures equipment, production lines start-ups within required timelines.

  • Monitors process and procedures and formulate SOPs and/or other documentation as required.

  • Checks production output per specifications.

  • Identifies issues in efficiency and suggest improvements.

  • Ensures personnel is in compliance with required training regarding processes, procedures or any other that contributes to Quality and EHS Policies.

  • Provides employees with required resources to perform their job effectively and safely (personal protective equipment, training, tools)

  • Administers and Supervises production associates promoting compliance with Quality, EHS guidelines, Safety procedures and internal work regulations.

  • Manages the work team, integrates new hires; coordinates production staff, employee rotation and employee movement; evaluates employee's performance; managing of time cards, vacation/sick time and any progressive discipline; ensures compliance with policies and regulations.

  • Trains new employees on how to safely use machinery/equipment and follow procedures.

  • Enforces safety guidelines and company standards

  • Performs all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.

  • Ensure the use of ESD personal protective equipment.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.

  • Other duties may be assigned to meet the business needs.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree equivalent in Engineering discipline preferred.

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment with relevant exposure to assembly processes.

  • Proven experience as Production Supervisor or similar role.

  • Must be well organized, able to handle multiple projects and priorities and be adept at information gathering and technical decision making in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to generate and present professional presentations.

  • Basic knowledge of SAP systems

  • Knowledge of Lean principles

  • Proficient using Microsoft Office programs Excel and Word, required.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

  • Knowledge on ISO 9001.

  • Ability to anticipate and resolve problems

  • Ability to assemble and motivate a team.

  • Must be able to work at night shift (10:00 pm - 6:00 a.m.) and weekends according to business needs.

  • High attention to detail and self-motivation skills

  • Strong leadership skills and a proven ability to manage change

Each individual performing the above procedures must: 1) adhere to the laboratory's procedures for the collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of patient test results, 2) follow the laboratory's established quality control policies and procedures in documenting all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications, 3) be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance and either correct the problem or immediately notify your immediate supervisor, Director, or Medical Director, 4) perform a wide variety of laboratory procedures requiring independent judgment using both manual and automated methods in Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, Immunology, and any other discipline as introduced into the laboratory, 5) perform and document maintenance – daily, weekly, monthly, or as needed on instruments and equipment as appropriate, 6) review the accuracy of patient results prior to releasing or reporting, 7) recognize age specific differences in expected results for newborns to geriatrics, 8) ensure that the testing of proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples and that collaboration with other laboratories is prohibited prior to the reporting of proficiency testing results to the appropriate agencies, 9) may be required to perform venipuncture or capillary puncture on various age groups from newborn to geriatrics, 10) assist in the development and maintenance of laboratory policies and procedures, 11) adheres to all department and hospital policies and procedures related to safety, infection control, emergency preparedness, and human resources, 12) 12) in the absence of a supervisor, may be assigned/identified as Lead Tech, having responsibility for the section or department during their shift, 13) may be assigned responsibilities related to LIS and/or POCT. 14) other tasks or responsibilities may be assigned by the department manager/director.
