Responsible for all pilgering activities: production, tooling design, tooling inventory, quality, training and technical aspects of pilgering operation.
Manages employees and work environment in compliance with company safety standards and all state and federal regulatory requirements and regulations.
Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods and productivity, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, drawings, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
Formalize the know how in a "pilgering bible"
Establish the reduction schedule
Design, order the tooling and maintain the inventory
Develop employee training programs for proper and safe operation of equipment and lead 5S program.
Assist in development of material traceability and inspection system for department
Communicate goals to direct personnel through regular status and department meetings.
Ensure department equipment is well maintained and capable of supporting production requirements.
Determine equipment capacities and understand constraints.
Evaluate new equipment and / or process changes to improve productivity and reduce costs.
Must understand and follow requirements of SXP QMS and EHS system.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Prior supervisory experience in advanced manufacturing required; oil and gas, aerospace or steel experience preferred
