Responsibilities

1st Shift - (6:00 am

• 3:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, 6:00 am

• 2:30 pm on Friday - overtime on Saturdays as business needs dictate).

Starting Pay $18/hour

• Additional compensation may be available based upon experience.

Globe invented Fire Fighter Protective Clothing / Turn Out Gear / Fire Suits over 137 years ago and we are proud to protect those on the front line today! We are looking to hire Production Workers for our Pittsfield, New Hampshire manufacturing plant to perform sewing and non-sewing operations as we convert specialty cut fabric into high quality turnout gear. In this role you will learn stitching operations and may also learn jobs in other areas as well.

We are willing hire and train candidates of at all levels including entry level with no experience.

Stitching (Sewing Operators)

• Utilize a variety of industrial single needle, double needle and programmable machines to stitch one of over 100 operations needed to complete the turnout gear shell or liner. Every operator is responsible for the quality of their work and is expected to support their departmental team by learning at least two additional operations.

Machine Operator roles (Snapping, Seam Seal, Automated Stitching, Trim, Cutting)

• Cutting fabric into pieces using a Gerber Cutter.

• Ability to use and understand a ruler and measurements.

Qualifications

Skills, Abilities and Knowledge:

• Able to read, write and speak basic English.

• Have basic knowledge of computers or tablets.

• Able to assist in team lifting of approximately 30 pounds.

• Strong organization skills and high attention to detail.

Education (Required):

• High School Diploma or GED.

Additional Requirements:

• Background check, drug screen and pre-employment physicals is required.

• Sewing Operators must be able to sit or stand for full shift.

• Non-Sewing Operators must be able to stand/walk for full shift.

• Previous experience in Sewing, Manufacturing, Machine Operation, Assembly, Quality Control and Inspection desirable.
