Shift exchange meeting with the previous shift operator.
Discussion revolves around the production activities during the previous shift.
Read logbook notes for previous shift(s), talk with the shift supervisor for assigned duties if different than already planned.
Shift rounds to monitor and recording instruments, flowmeters, or other indicators and listen for warning signals, to verify conformity of process conditions.
Inspect operating units, such as pumps, dryers, reactors that all are functioning and to maintain maximum efficiency.
Draw samples of products and raw materials as needed.
Charge raw materials into the reactor and package product out of the reactor(s). Transfer packaged product to the warehouse by using the forklift.
Bring in raw material needed for the batch from the warehouse.
Receive raw material tankers and transfer into the bulk tank if scheduled on shift.
Fill the product tanker from the bulk tank as needed.
Prepare notes for the end of shift exchange.
