DESCRIPTION:

As a Production Worker, you'll get to work with an awesome team to produce and package products for on time shipment to our customers. You'll use material handling equipment and maintain accurate inventory records by using our warehouse management system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Function within the guidelines of the Lube-Tech "Team Ground Rules" and Mission Statement.

  • Perform processes to complete bottle filling assemblies and sub-assemblies machines.

  • Follow written instructions on the Production Work Ticket (PWT) for the production of various products.

  • Gather raw material needed for producing product, help set-up production line, and produce sample for quality inspection.

  • Upon inspection approval, produce product, label, pack, and load grouped orders onto pallets.

  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.

  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.

  • Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required.

  • Complete tasks as directed by production schedules with minimum supervision.

  • Utilize all material handling equipment safely, efficiently, perform all required safety checks and communicate need for repairs.

  • Package bulk material as required by a PWT for replenishment.

  • Accept schedule and direction when there are changes in workloads.

  • Perform other duties as required

  • Attend monthly departmental and production meetings

  • Minimal travel required for this position, e.g. On occasion travel may be required between locations depending on business needs

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Completion of 4-years of high school, or equivalent

Experience and/or Training

  • Must have a good command of the English language and the ability to read, communicate and understand written instructions

  • Troubleshoot mechanical problems on the production line as they occur

  • Understanding of KPMs and manufacturing packaging line processes

  • General Quality & Safety Awareness

  • Understanding of Lean Principles

  • Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS)

  • Basic mathematical abilities

  • Mechanical aptitude

Technology/Equipment

  • Basic Microsoft Office proficiency

  • Inventory Management System (JDE)

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Employee must have the ability to lift/carry up to 70 pounds occasionally and push/pull drums weighing up to 400 lbs. occasionally

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or use hands, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, and/or walk and climb staircases frequently.

  • Employees may be subject to random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations

  • Ability to work flexible hours or weekends, as business needs dictate.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work performed in a warehouse environment and extreme heat (>80 degrees) during summer months

  • May work at different workstations as production needs require, or shift from one station to another, during the production process.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) safety eye glasses and safety steel-toe shoes are required

  • Work hazards Safety concerns to include heavy products, light and heavy-duty machinery, forklifts, working in a congested and high activity warehouse.

This person will plan, organize, and carry out objectives related to production efficiency; utilization, safety, productivity, and quality. This position will ensure that customer needs are met through appropriate day-to-day allocation of people, equipment and assets in the production operations of the plant and will work with the management team, customers, and Lube-Tech personnel to prioritize tasks and assign resources cost effectively to meet the customers' needs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: This position primarily works 1st or 2nd shift in the Shreveport warehouse as assigned. However, this person needs to have flexibility in their hours to work either shift, weekends, and as business dictates. Group Lead: * Function within the guidelines of the Lube-Tech "Team Ground Rules" and Mission Statement * Oversee activities in the production area to meet production goals, safety, quality, and cost objectives * Plan and coordinate the flow of materials through the production area, from raw materials to finished products * Participate in plant continuous improvement / change over reduction activities and process * Assist in maintaining product quality through Finished Parts Document controls * Develop and implement operating procedures designed to eliminate production problems and improve quality * Plan and oversee the maintenance of assets that are critical to production * Provide recommendations on facility maintenance, quality and/or plant improvements * Maintain plant cleanliness such that customer tours can be a positive marketing experience * Plan and administer policies and procedures * Ensure employees are following safety rules and safe practices * Make budgetary recommendations on capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor * Review and analyze production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production problems * Analyze and identify the cause for quality or production problems * Become proficient in the use of Lube-Tech's manufacturing & inventory control system(JDE) * Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and manpower requirements * Develop and maintain efficiency, productivity, and quality measurements * Present measurements to management on a predetermined basis * Select and develop personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the production function * Assist in developing training procedures to move the company to be best in class * Provide an emphasis on safety to ensure compliance with all pertinent government regulations and provide a safe environment for employees * Minimal travel required for this position * Perform other duties as required or assigned MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High school diploma or equivalent Experience and/or Training: * Minimum of 4 years manufacturing related to packaging business and production line operation * Minimum of 2 years' supervisory experience * Understanding of KPMs and manufacturing processes * General Quality & Safety Awareness * Understanding of Lean Principles * Strong communication & Organizational skills * Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS) Technology/Equipment: * Basic Microsoft Office proficiency * Inventory Management System (JDE) * Understand laptops and projectors for training purpose PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS: Employee must have the ability to lift/carry up to 60 pounds occasionally and push/pull 76-100 pounds occasionally. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work in extreme heat (>80 degrees) during summer in the Warehouse and Production area.
