SUMMARY OF JOB CONTENTS
The Production Trainer is an hourly position. Trainer will be expected to understand and safely execute and train to all duties as outlined in the Standard Work Instructions. In addition, this person will have responsibility for handling and packaging fiber spools, periodic machine cleaning and other assignments as deemed necessary. The Production Trainer will complete training and production related tasks as assigned by their direct supervisor and management staff. Must be able to push, pull and lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders and stairs and walk or stand for considerable lengths of time.
KEY ACCOUNTABILTIES
Trainer
Performing in a safe and efficient manner all duties associated with operating a fiber line.
Must meet and maintain qualification status for all Production Trainer Benchmarks as outlined in the Production Performance Assessment Training Curriculum.
Work in and maintain a team culture and assist co-workers in performing tasks, as necessary.
Trainers must ensure proper techniques are used in key situations such as monitoring quality, stringing up winders, correcting wraps, splicing precursor, etc by training Operators to Operating Procedures.
Must be able to demonstrate and teach how to monitor fiber quality and ensure spool size and size content meet customer specifications.
Must be able to demonstrate and instruct team members how to; quickly, safely, and consistently respond to production line issues.
Must wear and ensure co-workers wear uniforms, badge and all safety required personal protective equipment for the position.
Must properly maintain all equipment and tools; including but not limited to PPE and uniforms.
Will work closely with Training and Development Specialist.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase safety and efficiency of department and work crew.
Reviews and suggests changes to operating procedures for existing processes.
Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
Must review, explain, and develop documents and procedures for new processes.
Other necessary duties as assigned by the plant supervision.
Senior Trainer
Must meet all standards and perform all tasks listed above.
Will participate and train team members in Structured Problem Solving.
Will perform a safety walk twice per month with a member of management.
Will participate in 5s training.
Expert Trainer
Must meet all standards and perform all tasks listed above.
Must work in a supervisory role a minimum of once per month.
Will conduct 1 Behavior Based Safety Observation.
Will conduct 5s training with team members.
Chief Trainer
Must meet all standards and perform all tasks listed above.
Will be cross trained and act as a back up for Production Planning Supervisor.
Will be cross trained and act as a back up for Production Control Specialist.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Trainer
Must have and maintain an excellent safety and attendance record.
Able to meet all requirements and achieve a level 1 rating for the Production Trainer position.
Must have achieved Expert Operator certification.
Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
Must possess an overall knowledge of plant equipment machinery and be able to learn processes and train new and current team members to them.
Must have knowledge of all line operating systems and complete functionality from creel through winding.
Must be able to troubleshoot using Lab Data and SPC.
Must have good mathematical ability.
Must be able to learn, comprehend and maintain the information to become efficient at monitoring the product during processing, ensuring finished product quality and troubleshooting equipment function.
Demonstrate the ability to work well on own without close supervision and make safe, efficient and effective appropriate level decisions.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Senior Trainer
Must meet all qualifications listed above.
Must have a minimum of 1 year experience as a Trainer or have achieved a Senior Supervisor level.
Must have completed Structure Problem Solving training.
Must have completed Train the Trainer training.
Must maintain Forklift and Scissor Lift certification.
Must demonstrate technical knowledge and proficiency in operation of one of the key areas (Creel, Process, Packaging)
Expert Trainer
Must meet all qualifications listed above.
Must have a minimum of 1 year experience as a Senior Trainer or have achieved an Expert Supervisor level.
Must demonstrate technical knowledge and proficiency in operation of two of the key areas (Creel, Process, Packaging)
Chief Trainer
Must meet all qualifications listed above.
Must have a minimum of 2 years experience as an Expert trainer or have achieved a Chief Supervisor level.
Must demonstrate technical knowledge and proficiency in operation of all of the key areas (Creel, Process, Packaging).
Completed training from an approved leadership development class.

Employees must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds and repetitively lift and carry 35 lbs and push or pull up to 60 pounds with rolling wheels. Must be able to control and manipulate pallet lifting device. Must be able to prove ability to safely and efficiently manipulate CF material through winders/rollers. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to extreme heat, minimal concentration of chemicals and HCN below DOSH standards, frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is below OSHA required PPE levels but considered loud in some areas.

72 hours annually; Paid Sick Leave: 1 hour for every 40 hours worked. Eligibility to roll up to 40 hours from PTO and PSL banks to next year.
