Broadridge is growing! We are currently seeking a Production Technician to join our Production Technical Support Team in South Windsor, CT. In this role, you will lead and provide direction and mechanical support to the production line and finishing technicians as required. You will monitor all work ensuring that a constant workflow is maintained. You will also maintain/supervise operating software on Insertion/Finishing equipment.

This is an on-site role that will be assigned to a Broadridge location where you will work 100% of the time.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Bonus Eligible

  • Hourly Rate: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour depending on experience, plus shift differential

  • Career Trajectory: Sr. Production Technician, Production Technician Supervisor

Responsibilities:

  • Shift: Thursday - Saturday, Alternating Wednesday's 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM

  • Provides mechanical and electrical support to the production line and supports production operations with all equipment-related and machine setup issues.

  • Supervising training and certification of machine operators on material and detection set-up on the Insertion/Finishing equipment as required.

  • Research current versions and models of vendor software.

  • Maintaining the inventory for machines by providing management with a comprehensive inventory.

  • Cross-training with Senior Technicians on operating software uses and instruction for job set-ups and mode modification.

  • Following all departmental procedures as advised including all departmental guidelines and keeping accurate records of all work performed.

Qualifications:

  • A proven proficiency in the operation, repair and maintenance of insertion/finishing equipment, electric and electric circuit experience is necessary.

  • Full understanding and working knowledge of equipment software and operating systems. Experience in mode building and implementation. Full functional abilities around transferring of software, upgrading software and modifying software utilized in our production operations equipment.

  • Ability to stand and work, to lift, carry and move 25+ lbs throughout duration of assigned shift.

  • Excellent ability to troubleshoot equipment problems, prioritize, and work under deadline pressures.

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree and Technical/Trade School

  • 2-3 years' experience within a high volume production environment with resultant knowledge of insertion/finishing equipment

  • Experience/understanding in spare parts/repair parts control, parts ordering, budget and documentation.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Project planning experience.

Respond to Technical Support calls in a prompt manner to ensure timely resolution.</p></li><li><p>Appropriately logs all support calls into the technician tracking system (e.g., FIIX) to ensure all work time and parts are appropriately accounted for.</p></li><li><p>Install electrical wiring and controls for all production-related equipment. Install, troubleshoot, and repair computer hardware related to production equipment.</p></li><li><p>Relocate production equipment and support the installation of new equipment as required by management.</p></li><li><p>Effectively track parts usage and provide input to management and the Inventory Analyst with regard to suggested inventory levels.</p></li><li><p>Contribute to a positive quality of work-life and foster team spirit and morale.</p></li><li><p>Provide feedback to leadership regarding performance appraisals of junior technicians.</p></li><li><p>Ensure compliance with maintenance records in accordance with OSHA and EPA requirements. This may include the use and maintenance of an equipment tracking database. Consistently adheres to all safety procedures.</p></li></ul><p>Qualifications:</p><ul><li><p>High school diploma or equivalent and/or technical/vocational education. Must have vendor/equipment repair certification for at least one of Broadridge's insertion platforms (e.g., Blue Crest, Bowe, Buhrs, etc.).</p></li><li><p>3 years' experience within a production environment with resultant knowledge of equipment repair. Proven proficiency in the operation and repair of high-speed production equipment is necessary.</p></li><li><p>Must possess good oral and written communication skills.
