POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under direct general supervision, positively operates under a total task, team-based approach to move raw, packaging, and finished goods to, from and within a department using mechanical and manual means. This position will require flexibility with shift and work day assignments to support business need requirements and reduce Overtime. (For example, one potential work schedule might be Sunday - Thursday.)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Make product changeovers

  • Perform packaging size changes, minor repairs and adjustments on equipment

  • Operate, process, fill and package materials on production line equipment

  • Perform consistent quality inspection of products

  • Pack and palletize finished goods in a safe manner

  • Accurately complete all related paperwork

  • Use computerized inventory management system to select orders and input data

  • Maintain accurate inventories

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Under direct general supervision, positively operates under a total task, team-based approach to move raw, packaging, and finished goods to, from and within a department using mechanical and manual means

  • Ability to move up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and on an occasional basis move up to 100 pounds with assistance

  • Ability to perform basic math functions

  • Results-focused with ability to self-motivate and work under limited supervision

  • Demonstrated experience working effectively and accurately in a high volume, fast paced environment

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and build relationships in a diverse team-based environment

  • Demonstrated ability to use logical thinking and independent judgment to solve problems

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Proven mechanical ability

  • Fork lift experience

  • Demonstrated ability to read, navigate and interpret multiple computerized data collection, data entry and inventory control systems

Description Under the general supervision of the Sr. Principal Scientist, the Clean Flavor Pilot Technician will be responsible for performing herb and spice extractions and concentrations as required to support Clean Flavor Research and Development. Responsibilities The technician will also participate in a team responsible for operating a FlavorCell pilot line, a cereal extrusion line, and a nozzle dryer at the FMC as required to provide samples for product Research and Development. The technician routinely prepares simple liquid blends and occasionally prepares dry powder blends. The technician also performs routine process equipment maintenance and adjustments and maintains records of all raw materials usage and process data collected during pilot production runs. Communicates daily with the Clean Flavor team to report pilot production schedule and discuss observations. Qualifications * Please note that qualifications are listed by number; bidders must describe their background in each qualification by number. The supervisor and HR Department will review all bid packets to determine interview eligibility. * Acceptable attendance required. * Meets standards in overall performance rating in most recent performance review required * Excellent organizational, and recordkeeping skills required * Intermediate math skills required. * Demonstrated ability to work with a team required * Demonstrated ability to self-direct work on long-term projects without daily supervision * Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal required. * Minimum of 15 years manufacturing or pilot plant experience and knowledge of GMP's required. * Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand tools to perform routine process equipment maintenance and adjustments required. * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required * Demonstrated working knowledge of SAP, Winchem, Batchmetrics preferred * Strong working knowledge of processes to order materials from internal and external sources required.
