Full Sail University, the leader in education for the Entertainment, Media and Technology industries, is seeking a Production Technician to support live event operations across the organization. The position will be part of Full Sail University's Events Department, reporting to the Director, Event Technical Operations. The successful candidate will have 1-3 years of live event experience and an entry level understanding of audio-visual and broadcast technologies. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential as this position will work with a team and take direction from department leads on a regular basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Setup, operate and strike basic A/V systems as needed for events around Full Sail's campus
Work alongside Events Department leads on a wide variety of shows in Full Sail Live and the Fortress
Occasionally travel to offsite events to provide technical support
Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on audio-visual systems
Perform regular cleaning, maintenance and repairs on equipment under the supervision of Events Department leads
Perform regular cleaning and inventory checks for all facilities under the Events Department's management
Ability to drive company vehicles for on and off campus deliveries and pickups

Competencies:
A solid understanding of audio, lighting and video systems and their components
Ability to setup basic A/V systems independently with little or no oversight
Strong troubleshooting skills
Basic soldering skills and repair and maintenance skills are required
Ability to read and interpret floor plans, lighting plots and wiring diagrams
Successful candidate will be a self-starter who possesses excellent time management skills with great attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while handling multiple priorities
This role is not specific to any one production discipline. The successful candidate will be a generalist who enjoys moving between audio, lighting and video as needed
Must be able to work nights and weekends as needed. This is not a 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday job. Nights and weekends are commonplace for the Events Department.
Must be able to work overtime when required. This position will frequently require more than 40 hours a week

Proficiency with both Windows and Mac OSX
Basic knowledge of Office 365 applications is a plus
