POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The Production Technician performs a wide variety of tasks to prepare and ensure the operation of new production equipment in powder and tea manufacturing. This position plays a key role in troubleshooting and changing out equipment. It requires knowledge of all production equipment and the ability to train others within the facility. It also requires the flexibility to rotate into various positions when needed.

Team members in this position are required to maintain knowledge of the process flow, computerized equipment and be aware of hazards associated with the process as well as understand and execute standard operating procedures.

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Ability to perform all production jobs including, but not limited to Manufacturing, Packaging, Change Over, etc.

  • Troubleshoot equipment as necessary to minimize machine downtime

  • Complete rapid change outs of equipment to minimize equipment downtown and ensure quality production in a fast-paced, growing environment

  • Ensure equipment clearances with quality control before start of processing.

  • Follow all safety procedures at all times. Report any unsafe acts or Comply with all company policies and procedures including safety rules and regulations

  • Assist Production Management, Process & Packaging Egineering with planning each phase of new equipment

  • Communicate all procedures effectively and train others, as needed

  • Ability to train others on all jobs, equipment, products, etc.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills:

  • Ability to operate production equipment to Herbalife's specifications

  • Ability to instruct and train people

  • Good documentation principals, including legibility

  • Ability to communicate/interact with Supervision, OEM representatives, team members, and trainees

  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures.

  • Compliance with all safety rules and regulations.

  • Good math skills to compute yields, variances and troubleshoot

  • Ability to interface with machine, controls and computers

  • Ability to speak, read, and write in the English language

  • Problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Experience:

  • Working independently as well as in a team environment.

  • Working experience as a manufacturing, packaging, or changeover

technician in nutraceuticals

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Associates degree a plus

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)

  • Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or other regulatory experience

  • Experience using High Speed Mixers, Powder Blenders, Fluid Bed Dryers, Sifters, Scales, Liquid batching systems

  • Prefer 1 year of work experience in a manufacturing environment and at least 6 months at Herbalife, as well as packaging line experience

  • Food manufacturing or packaging experience a plus

POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT: The General Associate will be responsible for a variety of duties relating to the packing of manufactured products which include following packaging records and standard operating procedures. In addition this position will be responsible for cleaning equipment and work areas, packaging and palletizing, labeling, in process inspection and other related packaging activities. DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: * Clean and maintain processing rooms, production areas and equipment. * Ensure all product and components required for daily production are in the appropriate staging area. in a timely manner to ensure availability before production begins. * Ensure any remaining product/components are returned back to inventory once a project is completed. * Perform quality checks on labels and codes. If defects are found notify lead/supervisor immediately. Change labels as needed. * Inspect finished product continually throughout process to identify defects. * Package finished product and full goods in boxes in a timely manner. * Perform various packaging duties. * Follow established department GMP's, SOP's and batch record instructions. * Comply with all company policies and procedures including safety rules and regulations. * Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Lead. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Skills: * Ability to manually handle packaging product in a quickly and timely manner. * Ability to apply basic math skills required to control inventory. * Good communication skills both written and verbal. * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. * Comply with all company policies and procedures. * Comply with all safety rules and regulations. * Ability to understand, speak, read and write in the English language. * Basic computer skills. Experience: * Up to 1 year experience in a fast paced packaging environment. * Experience working/participating in a team based environment. Education: * High school diploma or GED PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Food and Drug Administration (FDA) other regulatory. * Experience using high Speed Mixer, Dryers, Fitz mill, Sweco, scales and tablet presses. * Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMPS).
