Day-to-Day Role:
Deliver required technical training classes/courses to employees in assigned plant(s)
Work with the Training Coordinator or Technical Training Consultant , addressing the technical training needs of assigned plant or department
Work with Plant Leadership to prioritize assigned plant technical training projects
Communicate plant/department technical training needs to the Technical Training Consultant for new training requests / development
Support training needs at other facilities when required.
Provide input on process improvement initiatives and/or cross functional plant projects (Kaizen, new equipment/technologies)
Assist other Production Technical Trainers in coordinating, scheduling, and facilitating the training of plant employees, when applicable
Ensure that appropriate paperwork is accurately completed and is submitted, to be added into the LMS
Work with other Production Technical Trainers to maintain consistency and improve training efforts
Notify Learning and Development's Technical Training Consultant immediately and recommend solutions if there are issues that will prevent achievement of training goals
Deliver required training to plant employees timely, so employees are productive and efficient at their job responsibilities
Perform training to ensure all training efforts give employees the knowledge and understanding of employee/product safety rules and maintain product quality
Provide certification/recertification training to plant employees where applicable
Maintain and increase subject matter expertise through continuous learning of new technologies and processes in the given field of technology
Facilitate training when production schedules allow. This will include working different shifts and possibly weekends, when applicable
Follow and commit to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service requirements
Follow practices and processes intended to provide safe products that comply with appropriate laws and regulations, meet the company quality standards
Follow and commit to safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
Core Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:
Requires one of the following:
Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in adult education, creative writing, instructional design/technology, or related field of study and two (2) years of related experience, OR
Associate's degree and three (3) years of technical/manufacturing related experience, OR
High school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of technical/manufacturing related experience.
Two (2) years of experience delivering technical training within a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) facility, vocational or community college setting
Understanding of needs analysis, project management, course development, and evaluation methodologies
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn and understand manufacturing processes, procedures, regulations, technologies, machines, tools, and equipment
Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes
Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create and edit basic reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS SharePoint
Strong attention to detail and accuracy specifically related to documenting detailed job tasks and instructions
Ability to effectively present to an audience
Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills
Ability to successfully prioritize and organize projects, deadlines and tasks in both team and independent environments
Ability to calculate percentages when scoring tests and use classroom performance data to analyze and adjust future training courses
Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Prior experience working in a manufacturing production environment
Prior experience utilizing Learning Management System (LMS)
