Position: Production Team Lead - Second Shift

Location: Gainesville, FL

Position Overview:

The Production Team Leader reports to the Production Supervisor and has primary responsibility for floor-level leadership in the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing facility.

This individual will be involved in a variety of production and leadership responsibilities to include, but not limited to:

Primary Duties:

  • Enforces all safety procedures including the use of PPE and reporting of injuries, near misses and unsafe conditions

  • Maintains established standards of productivity and identifies ways to improve the operation utilizing LSS, 5S and other continuous improvement methodologies

  • Ensures compliance with company rules and policies

  • Works with production planning to execute production schedules.

  • Directs daily workflow and assigns work to employees

  • Assists the manager and supervisor in the coordination of making sure all metrics are met for the facility

  • Will regularly act as a backup for the Production Supervisor as needed.

  • Monitors the mood of the team and plant and bring issues to the attention of plant management

  • Fills in to give other employees required, scheduled breaks and cover PTO

  • Ensure proper operation of all manufacturing equipment and working with Maintenance to resolve breakdowns promptly

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5+ years as a Production Operator or combination of related experience in a similar manufacturing environment, and/or post-secondary education, to equal 7+ years
  • 3+ years of experience reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, Safety Data Sheets, batch sheets, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • 2+ years of experience completing documentation for work processes
  • 3+ years of experience utilizing math by adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
