Our HNI Workplace Furnishings team in Muscatine, IA is actively looking for a Working Zone Lead to fill a 2nd shift opportunity. (Monday - Thursday from 2:30 PM to 1:00 AM)

As part of our team, you'll dive into a dynamic Working Zone Lead role where you will possess a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of all manufacturing and material flow processes in assigned area to ensure efficient and effective delivery of products. Your hard work will be rewarded with competitive compensation, ranging from $20.00 to $30.00 per hour.

As a Working Zone Lead you will be responsible for providing daily leadership to production workers in one or more work areas/departments on a shift through guidance from upper-level supervisor.

What your day looks like:

• Coordinates, provides leadership and reviews work of assigned members.

• Read and follow schedules in order to determine needed product while adhering to all quality standards and safety rules.

• Verify conformance of parts and assemblies utilizing quality tools and checks. Exercise independent judgment in accepting or rejecting parts/units according to quality standards.

• Leads workers to maintain a work pace that supports production goals.

• Plans and schedules for maintenance and service of assigned equipment.

• Acts as liaison with other departments, units or organizations.

• Prepares reports (MDI, Pareto, safety, etc.) concerning activities of assigned departments

• Work with members to ensure all follow Total Preventitive Maintenance Procedures, maintain clean work area and follow 6S guidelines.

• Follow standard work for all positions performed; suggest and document improvements to standard work.

• Work with support team (Group Leader, Manufacturing Engineer, MCR, Quality members and Factory Manager) to address issues or concerns.

• Maintain daily metric boards (6S, productivity, quality, part shortages, etc) for area.

• Support training of new members

• Communicate daily targets and lead daily area meetings

• Lead safety/quality executive walks

• Apply organizational policies and assures adherence to departmental, plant and organizational procedures. Recommend and implement changes in methods and/or procedures.

Your qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment required

Requirements:

• Pass pre-employment drug testing

• Pass a 7-year criminal background check
