Job Description:

Production Support Operator

Albany Molecular Research Inc. provides global contract research and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

Support timely manufacturing of parenteral cGMP products in an aseptic environment including: set up, operate, sanitize and sterilize equipment and manufacturing areas; prepare, wash, and sterilize vials; complete batch calculations, preparation, and formulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Prepare and sanitize equipment for clean rooms, product compounding, and filling according to preparation list this includes disassembly/assembly.

  • Load and unload steam sterilizers, washers, prepare and weigh stoppers, etc. according to proper diagrams and instructions.

  • Record all procedures in logbooks following completion and complete/correct batch records to ensure readiness for fill.

  • Sanitize aseptic/controlled production areas to ensure microbial contamination is reduced to safe level on inanimate surfaces.

  • Bubble point test filters and read/interpret SOPs to ensure compliance.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 2 year's related experience (production, manufacturing, and/or clean room experience preferred) and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Pass Wonderlic Basic Skills Test at 12th grade level or higher

Other Qualifications:

  • Comprehend and follow SOPs, cGMPs, and detailed instructions to successfully produce sterile quality products.

  • Document information, events, and cGMP manufacturing processes clearly, accurately and completely.

  • Perform duties in an organized, detail oriented manner.

  • Apply basic math: measures, weights, fractions, decimals.

  • Apply basic computer skills.

  • Work and communicate well with others in a team environment.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * Prepares schedules and ensures timely completion of work orders for manufacturing processes. * Analyzes product demand, sales patterns, and forecasts. * Production specifications and plant capacity data. * Identifies raw material and component requirements for production from engineering and production specifications. * Reviews support documents for scheduling such as route sheets, enters all requirements into the planning system or process as required. * Monitors planning modules or production planning system with current lead times, and related information. * Establishes effective communication with various groups such as customers, sales offices, and/or plant production departments as required. * Monitors work orders from start to ensure the on-time delivery of products. * Reviews capacity loads and identifies possible manufacturing constraints. * Monitors and anticipates production issues due to capacity and new product launches. * Ensures resources required for production. * Ensures accuracy of signals for the timely ordering and delivery of components to support manufacturing activities. * Prepares production / planning reports as required. * Analyzes month end activity to determine the need for forecast modification. * Recommends revisions. * Participates in new product launch meetings and assist in developing new product forecasts and production schedules. * Support plant or manufacturing unit supply SOPs as required. * Identify opportunities to improve inventory investment through inventory entitlement model for applicable production line. * Compliance with safety, quality, and environmental policies and procedures. * Other responsibilities may be assigned and not all responsibilities listed above may be assigned.
