Education and Experience:

Job Summary: A Production and Supply Chain Coordinator uses analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict, and enhance both the supply chain and the internal manufacturing processes while coordinating and scheduling strategic outplant operations to align with the Hampton site production schedules. The Production and Supply Chain Coordinator collaborates with the operations, sales, planning, purchasing, and engineering teams to assemble data, analyze performance, identify problems, and develop recommendations which support both supply chain planning and manufacturing operations objectives. This role is key to supporting the monthly and annual production plans for the Hampton site and is critical to ensuring flow of product to and from strategic outsource operations to meet commitments to customers with on time delivery.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Forecasting, Procurement, and Vendor Management: Utilize analysis tools and master schedules to forecast material demands. Order necessary quantities from suppliers, track deliveries, and manage commitments to ensure timely receipt. Maintain open communication with vendors and transportation services to confirm scheduling, processing, and deliveries. Occasionally travel to vendor locations to gather firsthand information and build strong relationships.

  • Inventory and Platinum Management: Regularly audit material inventory and accurately forecast, order, and maintain platinum inventory. Oversee platinum account funding and arrange for the recovery and shipping of scrap platinum back to the supplier.

  • Research, Problem Mitigation, and Solution Development: Identify possible interruptions or issues in the supply chain. Collect and analyze relevant data to avoid potential disruptions. Investigate problems, find root causes, and develop solutions.

  • Team Collaboration and Planning: Work closely with the planning team and master scheduler to prioritize material. Adjust plans as needed. Run capacity analysis to identify gaps between required and available capacity to meet customer demand.

  • Reporting and Business Intelligence: Regularly track and report on vendor commitments and performance. Generate comprehensive reports to identify key performance indicators and potential bottlenecks. Provide analytical support for projects, new business opportunities, and proposals. Design, develop, and implement Business Intelligence tools.

  • Shipping Management: Assign shipping days to customer purchase orders and manage job planning holds.

  • Compliance: Coordinate requisitions and purchase orders for outplant vendors. Comply with all site-required policies and procedures, including EHS, HR, Quality, Code of Conduct, etc.
