Position Overview: NextGen Building Components is searching for a motivated and experienced Production Supervisor to join our team. Position Description: As a Production Supervisor at NextGen Building Components, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our production operations. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, ensuring that our team operates safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards. Your leadership will be critical in maintaining our commitment to excellence while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement.

Position Details:

  • Job Type: Full-time

  • Location: Farmington, NY,

  • Reporting to: Operations Manager

  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (with availability until 5:00 PM; occasional overtime, including Saturdays)

Work Authorization: We are seeking a US Person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident) for this position.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example with a servant leadership style, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement among production team members.

  • Utilize supervisory experience to effectively manage and mentor a diverse team of production personnel, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance and productivity.

  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and a thorough understanding of lean manufacturing principles, actively seeking opportunities to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency.

  • Actively engage in hiring and firing processes, ensuring that the team is staffed with qualified individuals who share our company values and commitment to excellence.

  • Champion a team motivation-centric approach, recognizing and rewarding individual and team achievements while providing constructive feedback and coaching as needed.

  • Monitor and track production metrics, performance management, and quality control processes, proactively identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.

  • Maintain accurate records of timecards, vacation requests, tardies, call-ins, and sick days, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Foster a culture of safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols, promoting a safe working environment for all employees.

  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite and possess a strong aptitude with production and ERP systems to effectively manage production schedules, inventory, and resource allocation.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent preferred.

  • Ability to pass a required Drug and Alcohol Screen.

  • Reliability, punctuality, and safety-mindedness with a strong work ethic.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of lean production principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Positive, helpful demeanor and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.

  • Advanced Math and Reading Skills

  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

  • Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions.

Minimum Experience:

  • 5+ years in Production Supervision or leadership
  • 5+ years in warehouse/production or manufacturing
  • 3+ years in Microsoft Suite

Supervisory Functions:

  • Supervise 30+ production specialists.

Working Conditions:

  • Office 60% / Floor 40%

  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and vibration.

  • Loud noise level in the work environment.
