Summary: The Salvage/Production Lead is responsible for managing the day to day production and salvage flow of the Outlet Store. Ensures that inbound and out bound product moves efficiently through the salvage and recycle processes. Trains and supervises the daily work of the production and salvage employees and ensures that safety standards are met.
Assesses the work flow and assigns duties to production and salvage workers.
Ensures that workers understand the production flow for all product lines.
Conducts quality control inspections and ensures compliance with production standards.
Directs work flow to ensure continuous movement of products through the production stream and prevents products from backing up in the warehouse.
Directs placement of inventory stored in the warehouse.
Operates a forklift as needed.
Directs the work of production and salvage employees including scheduling coverage and breaks. Provides training to employees on the production and salvage processes.
Three to six months of related experience or training in logistics or production.
Able to read and interpret document s such as safety rules, equipment operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Must be able write basic English and perform basic arithmetic.
Experience operating a Forklift and must be able to meet certification requirements for Goodwill.
Must become First Aid certified within 30 days of hire.
Experience with Quality Control in a production environment highly desirable.
The job requires the ability to communicate effectively in English (talk and hear).
Employee frequently walks, stands, and uses hands and fingers to write and handle product.
Occasionally sits and reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally required to lift up to 40 pounds.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally required to work near moving mechanical parts and in outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
