Position Summary

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating and supervising maintenance tasks preformed on facilities and equipment. The Production Supervisor will oversee mechanics/electricians, support personnel that repair and maintain equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures a safe, clean, and organized (5S) work place is provided for all employees. Implements and executes frequent department safety inspections, training events, and ensures the accurate completion of all accident reports.

  • Ensures that product and processes meet customers' highest expectations of quality rate completion of all accident reports. and ensuring that lean manufacturing processes meet company requirements.

  • Reviews, modifies, and otherwise supports company standard practices and procedures in connection with all department functions.

  • Provides training for entry-level programmers and evaluates/recommends changes in procedures, when necessary.

  • Ensure internal and external measurements and systems are in place to effectively drive data driven problem solving (scientific method) and alignment of resources to achieve superior customer satisfaction, world class performance and strategic goals

  • Ensure the ability to quickly diagnose the business operations and develop countermeasures that have the biggest impact on customer satisfaction and financial performance of the business.

  • Provide key input to the facility capital planning, capital appropriations request, & implementation processes

  • Analyze equipment failures, implement corrective action, and develop process improvements

  • Responsible for preventive maintenance of facility building and grounds, including HVAC, compressed air, waste water treatment, office equipment, etc.

  • Actively participate and provide leadership in OpEx planning and SD development and review.

  • Actively apply, teach and implement the RBS tools (TPM, 3P, VRK, PQPR, etc.)

  • Close interaction with plant team including Operations, Quality, Materials, and Safety

  • Supports the annual budget process for the facility fiscal budget; estimates staffing and capital equipment needs based upon recent trends and planned activities; monitors expenditures after budget adoption; approves requisitions for purchase of materials or supplies

  • Participates in the interviewing and hiring of new staff; prioritizes, assigns and reviews work, approves time off for payroll purposes, and prepares employee performance evaluations

Experience and Skill Required

  • Required 2 year degree or technical certificate in mechanics or electronics and 5 years' experience

  • Preferred degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering Technology with 3 years' experience

  • Demonstrated proficiency and implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles (TPM, Kaizen, 5S, etc.)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • OEE

  • Machine efficiency

  • Machine uptime

  • Scrap cost

  • Labor productivity

  • Maintenance cost reduction
