Leggett & Platt, Incorporated (NYSE: LEG) is seeking a Night Shift Production Supervisor for its Western Pneumatic Tube branch in Kirkland, WA, specializing in Aerospace tubing. This position will report to the Production Manager and will have the overall responsibility to effectively organize and monitor work flow and work with the Production Manager to execute continuous improvement projects and achieve safety initiatives. The successful candidate will be a strategic, big-picture leader who empowers others to take ownership and pride in branch operations.
Oversee shift production, quality, safety, and maintenance
Employee coaching, mentoring, and accountability in a union environment
Manage work flow by planning, monitoring, and executing targeted job results
Manages KPIs and provides production reports to the Production Manager
Work with production team to develop, plan and execute continuous improvement initiatives
Encourage safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel
Maintain working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement
Achieve acceptable quality and OTD requirements
Improve efficiency, productivity and reduce scrap to achieve product cost targets
Ensure compliance with company policy and procedures
At least 3-5 years in a Manufacturing Supervisory role
Experience in Aerospace Manufacturing preferred, especially within a union environment
High mechanical aptitude; familiarity with precision measurement tools (ie. Micrometer, calipers etc.)
Proven skills with ISO/AS9100 quality standards as well as Lean/Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement disciplines
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Suite ( Excel, Word, PPT, Access)
Ability to manage a large, diverse group in a busy environment that is fast paced and rapidly changing; Multi-tasking abilities are a must
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred
