Who you'll be working with:
Report directly to the Manufacturing Manager
How you'll contribute to the team:
Provide management, coordination and continuous improvement of all aspects of the manufacturing process across multiple production areas
Design, coordinate, and administer processes to support and build a high performing work team including
Coach production employees Lean Manufacturing techniques including MDI, Kaizen, Visual Management, and effective root cause analysis
Ensure that personnel have proper qualifications, are properly trained, and motivated to work productively both as part of a team and individually
Review and manage production schedules daily, coordinate and assign hourly workers as required and in accordance with budgeted staffing numbers
Measure line performance against targets and execute projects to eliminate root cause of manufacturing problems
Document notification requests in SAP and effectively partner with maintenance and engineering to improve equipment performance and reliability
Champion and driving an effective safety process, including Risk Assessments, Gemba safety walks, JSAs, and successful 5S housekeeping levels
Maintaining high level of customer awareness throughout the value stream and focus on delivering material that meets established standards of quality
What you'll bring to the table:
Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience in engineering, business, or related field
Strong management and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to effectively lead and motivate a diverse group of employees
Must be able to work other shifts and weekends when needed
Excellent working knowledge of safety and environmental practices and regulations, including OSHA compliance
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office including using Excel as an analytical tool. Experience using Minitab is a plus.
Excellent interpersonal, influencing, communication, listening, negotiating, problem-solving and decision-making skills are required. Must demonstrate ability to communicate at multiple levels of the organization
Experience with Six Sigma, lean principles, and other process improvement processes
A thorough understanding of line design flow principles and mechanical theory, Lean manufacturing and the ability to troubleshoot processes and equipment is highly preferred
We'll be excited if you have:
3+ years of effective production management experience
Experience in a union environment
