Redwood Materials is seeking a Production Supervisor to join our Hydrometallurgy leadership team. In this pivotal role, the Production Supervisor will lead a team of night shift chemical operators, ensuring the production of top-quality products with paramount safety and efficiency. With a dedication to exemplary work practices, they will establish the benchmark for chemical processing, safety protocols, and essential skills across the facility. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, they will spearhead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance daily operations and foster skill development within the team.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitate the implementation of the training program to ensure compliance is achieved for all training policies and requirements

  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

  • Foster strong relationships with employees through active engagement and continuous support.

  • Provide comprehensive training to new hires, covering safety, policies, procedures, and hydrometallurgy topics.

  • Create personalized training plans to address skill gaps and optimize staffing.

  • Collaborate with site leadership to execute manufacturing strategies and oversee operations.

  • Lead a diverse team to prioritize safety, reliability, and cost efficiency in production.

  • Set clear expectations, provide feedback, and ensure accountability among team members.

  • Coordinate with stakeholders to prepare for plant operations and mitigate performance risks.

  • Effectively communicate and promote improvement initiatives through verbal and written channels

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure thorough preparation for plant start-up, shutdown, and ongoing operation

  • Monitor production KPIs and adjust operations to meet objectives.

  • Prioritize tasks and delegate responsibilities to manage workload efficiently.

  • Actively listen to team feedback and address any issues or conflicts promptly

Desired Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; AAS Degree or higher preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in chemical/mining/refinery facilities.

  • Previous leadership or training experience, particularly in a chemical manufacturing environment, with a focus on developing people.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in critical thinking, time management, and effective verbal and written communication.

  • Competent in operating forklifts, hoists, and scissor lifts, and knowledgeable in critical safety procedures such as Safe Work Permitting, Hot Work, Confined Space Entry, and Working from Heights.

  • Strong ability to recognize and address hazards, with the capability to teach hazard recognition to team members.

  • Proactive problem solver with a track record of utilizing company resources efficiently.

  • Willingness to work in a chemical manufacturing environment and strictly adhere to safety protocols.

  • Proficiency with HMI programs preferred

Shift: Sunday through Tuesday, and every other Wednesday, from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am (10% shift differential)
