Production Supervisor

Position Purpose:

Motivate team members in the achievement of performance objectives. Continually improve response times and quality levels of the production systems. Train team members in the elimination of barriers to achievement. Act as a member of the management team in the identification of improvement opportunities and the development of organizational priorities. Comply with all safety standards and regulations and continually strive to maintain a safe work environment for all associates.

Essential Functions:

• Supervise the maintenance of a safe, clean and secure work environment for all associates in a designated area.

• Ensure fair and consistent application of and adherence to all established company quality standards, policies and procedures.

• Plan, organize and develop company resources to meet all established goals and objectives for on-time shipment of product to customer. Enforce all preventative maintenance schedules as applicable.

• Provide training to ensure that only qualified personnel (per ISO standards) are assigned to perform work.

• Identify areas to improve and then lead teams to complete the improvement.

• Ensure that necessary tools and equipment are ready and available to meet schedules. Prepare instructions for equipment operation and preventative maintenance.

• Assist area associates in achieving goals in quality, safety, delivery, and productivity.

• Develop, lead and support teams that are effective in meeting their stated objectives in: Customer Service, Quality, Throughput, Costs and Safety.

• Develop teams and team members to accept increasing levels of responsibility and authority; with ultimate objective being self-direction.

Education and Training:

• Bachelor's Degree is preferred but an associate degree or equivalent experience in an applicable area is acceptable.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3-5 years supervisory experience in a team or highly empowered environment

• Practical experience facilitating problem-solving processes (preferably in a highly empowered environment) is critical.

• Knowledge and experience in managing technical production processes. Particularly useful areas of experience include production fabrication, machining, or assembly operations.

• Must possess the ability to effectively direct, motivate and coordinate all activities associated with the manufacturing processes required in the specified area of responsibility.

• Must be computer literate and possess strong written and oral communication skills.
