THE OPPORTUNITY:
Under the direction of the Operations Manager, this individual is responsible for the overall supervision and productivity of High Post Production functions. They must be able to effectively communicate with team members to set daily priorities, balance the workload and adhere to deadlines. Must be flexible and proactive as issues/challenges arise. Provide strong mentorship, coaching, and guidance to team members in the department. Offer effective conflict resolution and clearly communicate expectations to employees daily. Handle multiple responsibilities including hiring, training, expectations and performance evaluations. Responsible for the overall flow of work in and out of High Post Production and collaborate closely with adjacent departments. Work closely with the Lead and Specialists to ensure work levels are properly managed. Monitor daily throughput and be prepared to pivot to accommodate rush requests. Ensure work priorities are aligned to effect on-time shipment of orders.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-4p (40-45 hrs/week) onsite at our HQ in Detroit Lakes, MN
A Typical Day (job functions) | Assign workflow + Prioritize + Review + Motivate
Manage and direct daily priorities set by the Operations Manager and/or determined by order dates
Utilize and understand reports to help manage priorities and determine priority goal achievement
Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills
Work within Lakeshirts' systems and processes to effectively flow orders through HPP.
Read and understand work orders and profiles to ensure each account is processed correctly
Conduct SIFs (short interval follow-ups with individual team members) and report performance Operations Manager
Collaborate with Operations Manager to overcome any team member concerns and/or performance issues
Conduct quarterly performance and yearly increase reviews with employees in conjunction with the supervisor
Maintain Lakeshirts' acceptable standard of quality per garment. Inspect orders that flow through high post production for correct ink/thread colors, proper logo placement, labels, and general flaws
Sort and fold garments by size/color/garment
Coordinate with adjacent departments to help meet daily goals or timelines
Review processes periodically to increase efficiency
Works actively with others in the department and company to achieve positive results
Ensure team members are appropriately trained in the areas of job responsibility, safety, and company policy
Motivate all team members to achieve personal and department success
Monitor attendance and analyze staffing needs to meet goals, keeping Workday updated and processing bi-weekly payroll sign-off procedures
Follows standards of 6S: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain and Safety
Follows safety practices. Identifies problems and works to resolve safety issues as they occur by OSHA standards
Maintain a cooperative work environment
Other duties as assigned including special projects
Skills (qualifications) | Effective Leadership & Communication+ Assess Needs + Prioritize
Ability to assess competing priorities, set plan, supervise plan through execution, follow up and adjust as necessary
Train the Trainer Program and LEAD workshop completion is preferred but not required
Leadership/Supervisory experience preferred but not required
Strong knowledge and use of Zion preferred, but not required
Excellent communication skills (written and oral), problem resolution, sound judgment, pro-active, people-oriented, flexible, organized, diplomatic, strong listening skills, reliable, enthusiastic, courteous, and result-oriented
Strong oral and written communication skills
Hours must be flexible according to workloads
High school diploma preferred, but not required
Ability to work well within a team
Accuracy is required, one must understand the order form and be able to count
Must be self-directed & self-motivated
Ability to be on your feet 8-10+ hrs/day
