Supervise 2nd shift (3pm-11pm), leading the team to meet the metric goals that drive financial success in the facility, insuring that all resources (human, equipment, supplies, etc.) are best utilized to meet the requirements of the Company. Accomplishes production objectives by orienting, training, assigning, coaching and communicating job expectations. Creating an environment for delivering results, meeting internal and external customer's expectations and maintaining positive teammate relations during day-to-day operation. Motivates and encourages at the individual and team levels to ensure set productivity targets are met. Improves manufacturing operations through the use of lean enterprise practices.
Drive a proactive safety culture that recognizes and eliminates hazards. Maintain and update safety IIP program, ensure compliance to plant safety programs, investigate incidents and implement of safety countermeasures.
Knowledge of production line and familiarity with product specs to ensure all product produced meets our Brand Promise.
Work with Cross Functional Teams (Planning, Quality, EHS, and Maintenance) on daily opportunities and counter measures for production related items
Assist with 5S and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Provide daily department status, performance to KPIs and anticipated risks.
Instruct, coach, train and guide teammates.
Lead, coach, and develop Team Leaders into becoming future potential supervisors
Monitor teams (projects, meetings, etc) to insure financially successful results. Act as facilitator in motivating teams and their cohesive results.
Assign work to meet scheduled production requirements.
Teammate management including attendance management, disciplinary action, and performance plans
Maintain good communications regarding requirements, changes, etc.
Model the leadership behaviors described in Bridgestone's Rules of the Road while achieving operational targets.
High School Diploma required, Bachelor's degree preferred
Must have 3 years of experience as a supervisor or leadership role in a manufacturing setting to be considered.
Demonstrated ability to assume ownership of the process and drive improvement in a team setting.
Must have ability to complete paperwork, perform mathematical computations using a calculator, read and comprehend paperwork, compute time-cards, use a computer for data entry and email programs, operate a forklift and use various hand tools.
Must be able to multi-task and work at a fast pace.
Ability to work 8, 10 or 12 hour shifts is a must, hours vary depending on volume and season.
Some weekend work is required.
Must be safety and quality focused.
Must have excellent people skills.
