The Production Supervisor oversees and coordinates the operation of one or more plants, ensuring uninterrupted supply of Aggregate product. Directs the day-to-day activities of a plant location to ensure objectives are met: manages, through subordinate personnel, the various operations associated with mining, processing, stockpiling, loading and shipping of sand and gravel for a plant location. Plans, staffs and supervises the work unit to ensure a cohesive operational unit; responsible for health, safety, and environmental compliance of the site.
Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
Supervises personnel which typically includes recommendations for hiring, firing, performance evaluation, training, work allocation, and problem resolution.
Supervises, coordinates, and monitors plant activities; oversees the maintenance of equipment and performs related duties to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant.
Supports and assists personnel in achieving timely and efficient production schedules; provides opportunities for training on routine preventive maintenance activities.
Investigates abnormal operating events or equipment failures to determine cause; makes adjustments, repairs, and/or modifications as needed.
Performs inspections on completed jobs; ensures conformance with policies and procedures, safety codes and local, State, and Federal laws, regulations, and ordinances.
Analyzes operational data and reconfigures operating area(s) as necessary to provide adequate, economical service.
Plans, schedules, and monitors all work being performed.
Oversees the overall safety of any personnel working at or visiting site.
Ensures proper documentation of operations activities in logs and/or incident reports.
RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER JOBS
Supervise unionized workers as they perform their work, assist Operations Manager with SAP and related accounting duties.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Preferred Education: Bachelor's/Undergraduate Degree or combination of education and experience
Field of Study Preferred: MSHA, Safety, Aggregate Production
Required Training/Certifications: MSHA
Required Work Experience: 5 Years
Licenses Preferred: MSHA Certified Trainer
