ABOUT THE ROLE

The Production Supervisor will primarily be responsible for the oversight, coordination and planning of daily production activities to ensure uninterrupted supply and delivery of product to our customers. They will be a key member of a high energy management team at a 3M ton per year granite quarry. They will take part in enhancing operational efficiencies while maintaining a strong safety culture. The Production Supervisor will have responsibility over all maintenance activities at the fixed plants, ensuring work is completed in a safe, efficient and timely manner, while in compliance with environmental requirements.

WHAT YOU'll BE DOING

  • Supervise, coordinate and monitor daily and weekly plant activities to include the maintenance of equipment

  • Coordinate with other supervisors to ensure maintenance activities are completed during scheduled plant downtime to optimize fixed plant production schedules.

  • Support and assist supervisor colleagues to achieve timely and efficient production schedules

  • Perform daily plant inspections

  • Evaluate and resolve problems affecting overall equipment efficiency

  • Investigate abnormal operating events or equipment failures to determine the root cause, and makes adjustments, repairs and/or modifications, as needed

  • Organize, schedule, and oversee daily preventive maintenance and repair activities on fixed plant equipment

  • Supervise all mechanical maintenance activities at the fixed plants

  • Make recommendations for workforce planning, hiring, training, development, work allocation, conflict resolution, performance evaluations and separations.

  • Supervise, train, and develop staff to achieve the department goals in a manner to create employee ownership while creating bench strength and succession plans

  • Ensure conformance with company policies, procedures, safety regulations, and local, state and federal laws and regulations

  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work areas

  • Ensure that employees observe safe work practices and perform work assignments within safety guidelines

  • Facilitates regular staff meetings and safety toolbox talks

  • Complete records, forms, and other paperwork associated with maintenance activities, including SAP time entry, notifications, work orders, etc.

  • Ensures proper documentation of operational activities in logs and/or incident reports

  • Maintains an effective system of communications with supervisors and customers service

  • Recommend, initiate and approve purchase requisitions, preventative maintenance work orders and other associated SAP transactions to obtain required contractor services, equipment, and supplies

  • Interface with procurement to ensure that all supplies, parts, and materials are available when required

  • Manage inventory of all plant consumables, parts, and spares. Coordinate orders and requests with plant management in order to ensure the plant inventory is maintained.

  • Assist in preparing recommendations for capital expenditures

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Education: Bachelor's degree or 5 years of equivalent experience.

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities

  • Experience in Aggregates or Construction Materials (Crushers/Stone)

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel and Powerpoint

  • Required Computer and Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Excel, Word and PowerPoint. SAP experience helpful.

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
