As a production supervisor, you'll support and adhere to Valmet Health, Safety, and Environmental goals and directives. Your responsibilities will include preparing and entering data from inventory items sent in and out of the warehouse in a timely manner.

Collaboration is key as you'll work in a team environment with Shipping & Receiving employees, Machinists, and Assemblers. Additionally, you'll supervise a small team of employees, prioritizing and assigning tasks to ensure effective resource utilization and meeting work schedules and targets. Tracking BOM completion while receiving parts from vendors and customers and notifying production when all parts for a job are received, will be part of your duties.

You'll also manage product orders, handling out-of-stock and overstocked items. Auditing key items through cycle counts and adjusting on-hand levels, as well as supervising staff to ensure safe warehouse activities and equipment operation, will be essential. Data management is crucial as you'll enter information into databases or computerized systems to maintain up-to-date stock records, retrieve stored information, place orders, or respond to inquiries about inventory levels or delivery schedules. Lastly, you'll monitor the effectiveness of operating procedures, space utilization, and equipment protection, making recommendations for improvements as needed

Expectations

To excel in this role, you should have a solid understanding of manufacturing operations with a strong mechanical aptitude. Your desire to support and work closely with production workers along with providing a quality product to our customers will ensure your success in this position.

To succeed in this role you will need

High School education or equivalent with a desired knowledge of paper making processes. This position requires previous inventory experience and prior management experience.

Experience in supervision, discipline as required on employee relations, safe practices while adhering to the collective bargaining agreement, company's personnel policies and state and federal rules and regulations. Good communication and organizational skills are also required, along with strong computer skills.
