Position Summary:

The Fragrance Production Supervisor leads the compounding team in the manufacture of fragrance oils to satisfy customer requirements (under supervision of the Sr. Production Manager). This position will work during the 2nd Shift and will be responsible for our Fragrance Production team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Execute the Master Production Schedule

• Leads daily manufacturing activities and workflow to ensure effective use of manufacturing resources (personnel and equipment) to meet production deadlines.

• Ensure raw materials are available to complete orders as required. Provides timely production status updates as required. Prepares weekly/monthly reports to assist management with communication and feedback to staff to improve productivity. Processes production records and generates requests for packaging, supplies, and other items needed for production. Utilize troubleshooting skills and root cause analysis techniques to monitor, assess, and resolve production issues.

• Collaborates with other Production shifts, as well as other departments (Production Planning, Logistics, Quality Control, Customer Service, and Maintenance).

• Continuous Improvement

• Generates and executes process and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Use of system tools, reports, and transactions within SAP and shop floor control system to make data-driven decisions.

• Policy and standards compliance

• Ensures adherence to all Symrise policies including, but not limited to: Production, Quality, Safety, and Housekeeping.

• Employee Training and Development

• Provides onboarding, coaching, and mentoring of employees.

• Conducts all phases of performance evaluations. Addresses behavior and performance issues.

• Other Functions: Projects as required by Production Manager

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree strongly preferred. Associate Degree would be acceptable along with equivalent experience in engineering, operations management, or similar field.

• Minimum 5+ yrs of direct supervision experience in a production environment required (chemical or flavor/fragrance industry is strongly preferred).

• Must have very good communication and interpersonal skills along with proficiency in the English language.

• Familiarity with manufacturing environment/processes.

• Experience with ERP system, specifically SAP is a must.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

• Experience troubleshooting issues on the production floor.

• Previous work experience in a very fast-paced and high pressure, team-oriented, and professional work environment.

• Must be flexible to cover other shifts as needed (i.e. vacation coverage, etc.)

• Strong organizational and planning skills are essential.

• Self motivated, forward-thinking individual with a continuous improvement mindset.

• Must be dependable and punctual.

• Experience driving a forklift is highly desired.
