Position Overview:
Multimatic Tennessee is a supplier of structural parts and welded assemblies to the automotive industry. We are looking for a Production Supervisor that will report to the Production Manager and be responsible for Supervising and directing the activities of all hourly production employees on the 2nd shift. The supervisor will ensure compliance to safety policies and practices and compliance to customer quality standards as well as manage and motivate employees and ensure that department targets and productivity and quality levels are met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures production associates are adequately trained to safely perform their assigned jobs at the required parameters for quality and productivity.
Achieves production requirements by prioritizing headcount assignments and machine scheduling. Works with Materials and Maintenance to maximize productivity.
Responsible to report and investigate the root cause of safety, quality or delivery or other concerns.
Utilize effective communication with all associates.
Lead and facilitate corrective action and continuous improvement teams.
Responsible for production associates performance reviews on an annual basis.
Responsible for coaching production associates and completing Conduct and Corrective Action reports when necessary.
Conduct shift meetings to set objectives and update production associates with important information.
Validate and approve employee timecards and requests for absence.
Consult as needed with other supervisors and management staff to support plant team objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Proven ability to lead a team.
Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA / Environmental laws and regulations.
Applied knowledge of root cause investigating and success in implementing corrective actions.
Broad knowledge of health, safety, and environmental principles, practices and procedures.
Proven ability to communicate and present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
Proficient in the use of personal computers, internet and Microsoft Office suite of software.
Be detail-oriented and have excellent follow-through skills.
Must possess high degree of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information.
