$55-68K + 10% bonus

Our food manufacturing client is seeking a Production Supervisor to add to 2nd night shift at their Creston, IA facility. This Production Supervisor will integrate food processing and complete duties while complying with sanitation standards, scheduling, monitor employee performance, oversee manufacturing processes and solving technical issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate the highest quality at the lowest possible cost consistent with good manufacturing practices.
  • Acknowledge and take steps to resolve operating problems in order to minimize their impact on the operations.
  • Implement company policies in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Keep production manager informed on operating and/or employee problems, quality, safety and/or control costs of production.
  • Adhere to Quality work practices, pursue GMP’s, control sanitary conditions and provide that the product quality is maintained.
  • Notify management of any conditions or practices that may adversely influence food safety and quality.

Job Qualifications:

  • College degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Able to train and motivate department personnel.
  • Coordinate and supervise all department functions.
  • Able to recognize problem situations and take appropriate steps to resolve these issues.

VIEW JOBS 4/19/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-18T00:00 Summary/Objective: The Supervisor provides supervision and direction to ICF/ID staff with the goal of providing an organized and efficient program to individuals served. The supervisor plays a key role in new hire orientation and the ongoing training of ICF/ID staff. Essential Job Functions: * Report issues of concern to the ICF/ID Director. Offer ideas and suggestions for resolutions of concerns. Use appropriate methods and channels of communication. * Comply with all applicable policies, practices, and laws, and with the regulations provided by any governing bodies, such as Department of Human Services (DHS), IME (Iowa Medicaid Enterprise) and Department of Inspections and Appeals (DIA). * Supervise personnel: * Ensure relevant documentation of promotions, meetings, disciplines, etc. * Perform evaluations for Direct Support staff within one month of their due date. * Ensure DSP staff is supporting individuals to participate in activities. * Provide guidance and leadership to DSP staff to ensure implementation of program plans as written and completion of range of motion exercises as written. * Provide orientation training to new staff within 10 orientation shifts. Ensure timely documentation of new staff orientation/training. * Provide day to day supervision and leadership of Team Leaders and Direct Support staff. * Ensure SERVESAFE guidelines are followed. * Provide oversight and monitoring of food preparation. * Follow approved menus and physicians' orders. * Follow health and safety policies. * Oversee daily routine of ICF/ID program: * Ensure that active treatment schedules are being implemented consistently by staff. * Ensure staff are teaching individuals rather than doing for them. * Plan, coordinate, and ensure follow through of meaningful activities for individuals served each month. Ensure activities planned are based on likes and dislikes of persons served. * Supervisor Responsibilities: * Review incident reports and behavior incident reports of persons served and document appropriate follow-up. Seek out the root cause of incidents to decrease the likelihood of reoccurrence. * Participate in IPP planning and meetings and provide input to the ICF/ID Director for the development of individual goals and objectives. Provide necessary reports. * Assist the ICF/ID Director, QIDP, and/or QIDA in training staff on programs by providing ongoing training to DSP staff. * Ensure all emergency drills are completed within timelines identified by program regulations and ensure proper documentation. Review emergency drills with ICF/ID Director. * Assist in completion of payroll duties as assigned. * Be available for on-call duties as needed. * Direct Care Responsibilities: * Perform direct care duties as needed, including assistance with bathing, toileting, meals, repositioning, lifting, etc. * Provide for the safety of the individuals served with the least amount of intrusion as possible. * Communicate with individuals served to evaluate needs and make recommendations. * Be an active advocate for individuals receiving services to have greater control over their lives. Encourage individual choice and decision-making. * Apply rights restrictions only as determined necessary by the IDT and included in the individual plan of persons served. * Work shifts as scheduled: * Find a replacement if unable to work a scheduled shift if minimum staffing ratios are affected. * Notify direct supervisor as well as on-call supervisor. * Work weekends and holidays as scheduled. * Other duties as assigned. * Certified Medication Aide (CMA) responsibilities: * Accurately administer g-tube feedings as instructed. * Accurately administer medications as ordered. Complete treatments and dressings as ordered. * Use judgment in monitoring and evaluating individuals for PRN medication use. Complete follow up documentation of all PRN medications within 60minutes. This includes being aware of normal range of temperature, pulse, respirations and blood pressure. * Complete required charting and data collection (e.g., MAR, CMA communication book, PRN sheet). * Monitor individuals for side effects of medications, including behaviors, vital signs, etc. * Order medications and medical supplies as needed. Ensure there are no additional medications and supplies in cabinet prior to doing so. * Complete an assessment prior to reporting concerns. The assessment will include vitals and any other pertinent information to share with the supervisor, nurse and/or physician. * Notify on-call supervisor of illness or injury and to gain direction/clarification of whom to contact. Notify physician of illness or injury as needed. * Use current knowledge gained in Med Aide training without exaggeration or personal opinion; documentation should reflect only facts. * Clean med room or area utilized to give medications after each med pass, including wiping off surfaces, floor, etc. Keep med room stocked and organized. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential element of this position. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. * <li>TB testing in compliance with CDC guidelines and State recommendations. * May require lifting at times, up to 35 pounds. Lifting more than 35 pounds requires the use of a two-person lift, mechanical lift, or assistive equipment. * May require prolonged sitting and working at a computer for up to eight hours. * May require frequent bending, stooping, and stretching. * May require prolonged standing for up to eight hours. * Must wear hearing and eye protection in required areas. * Must have ability to see objects/persons at a distance. * Must have ability to see close work such as typed or handwritten material. * Must have ability to hear conversations in a quiet and a noisy environment. * Must have ability to determine where a sound is coming from. * Must have ability to hear differences among bells, buzzers, beeps, horns, etc. * Must have ability to communicate through speech. Travel: Frequent travel is expected for this position. Preferred Education and Experience: * <li>One year's experience or education in working with individuals requiring 24-hour support. * High School Diploma or GED. * BA degree preferred. * Have or obtain SERVSAFE certification. * Certified Medication Aide (CMA) in Iowa, or willing to obtain. * Basic computer skills including MS Word. * Supervisory and leadership skills/experience preferred. * Background checks with previous employers, references, law enforcement agencies, and others will be conducted and found satisfactory. * Valid driver's license and driver's record deemed acceptable by Imagine the Possibilities, Inc.
