Vertiv is currently looking for a Production Supervisor to our Anderson, SC. This position will be Monday through Thursday from 6 p.m. - 6 a.m. The Supervisor will oversee warehouse operations to ensure that orders are selected, packaged, loaded, and dispatched safely, timely, and efficiently, and proper records are maintained. Functional areas of responsibility include all material and logistics functions required to manage warehouse operations. Typically, accountable for a single warehouse area.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain positive, progressive, and productive attitude toward plant targets and objectives regarding reliability, accountability, safety, integrity, quality, and productivity as a unified goal.
Develop, manage, and lead production team members over (4) teams in executing the production plan.
Coordinate to ensure equipment is maintained and processes are documented to allow manufacturing to achieve goals.
Provide troubleshooting assistance to maintenance and determine the cause of performance gaps using collaborative data knowledge and creative problem-solving skills.
Willingness to work off-shifts occasionally.
Lead the coordination of workflow and priorities.
Assist with interviews.
Ensure accuracy in maintaining production records such as quantities and types produced.
Learn and retain a good working knowledge of all equipment and processes within your production section.
Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations and decrease turnaround times.
Achieve the production schedule through managing, directing, and assigning department resources.
Provide input on staffing levels and cross-training.
Maintain a 6S workplace.
Complete team member reviews.
Follow all safety procedures and report all incidents in a timely manner.
Ensure the completion of periodic performance reviews on your team members according to the company's 6 core values.
Conduct applicable corrective actions and coaching cessions and encourage accountability.
Set and maintain a certain standard of excellence for your team to follow.
QUALIFICATIONS
Extensive supervision experience and/or a proven ability to lead through your current work record (i.e., currently willing to work overtime when needed, controlled Reliability record, good communicator, great attitude).
Basic knowledge of computer systems to include Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word; willingness to learn to use other tracking systems.
Self-starter who can resolve issues, track team member performance, engage in creative problem solving and coordinate work schedules for a team of employees.
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Excellent customer service skills
Demonstrated knowledge and utilization of total quality management principles and use of problem-solving tools
Education or experience with self-directed work teams, facilitation skills, or training
Proven material control experience
Experience supervising and coaching hourly employees
Knowledge of process improvement methods, and manufacturing systems
