Conveniently located in Oak Creek, WI, we are hiring immediately for a full-time Production Supervisor position.

  • Position: Production Supervisor

  • Location: Ryan Rd & I-94, Oak Creek, WI

  • Schedule: 1st Shift, 6am - 6pm

  • Reports to: Plant Manager

Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor plays a vital role in getting our product to our customers. The ideal candidate is one who is committed to food safety and quality, looks for improvement and is ready to roll up their sleeves with us. You will ensure that manufacturing remains a smooth and efficient process by monitoring employees and organizing workflows. In a fast-paced environment like production, the supervisor is an integral part of the manufacturing process. You works closely with the Plant Manager and with the sanitation, quality and maintenance departments to manage personnel to direct, coordinate and assist in the day-to-day activities of the production department in the safe, cost-effective and efficient manufacturing of products.

Essential Duties:

  • Supervises production team members in a freeze-dried manufacturing or retail packaging environment.

  • Plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.

  • Ensures effective employee relations by providing employee coaching and development and participating in making employment decisions.

  • Completes annual hourly employee reviews.

  • Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.

  • Manages departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to manager.

  • Collaborate frequently with other departments to complete projects and solve problems.

  • Participate in plant initiatives and committees that address safety and continuous improvement.

  • Other duties as required by management.

Position Requirements:

  • 2+ years of supervisory/management experience and a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.

  • An ability to think ahead and plan over a 30-day time span and prepare action plans to achieve results.

  • An ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost, and employee relations.

  • The possession of quality orientation and attention to detail, problem analysis and resolution.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • A positive attitude and willingness to help others.

Work Environment:

The job is performed under frequent temperature variations and in a food manufacturing production environment and unrestricted visual and audio abilities are required for the safety of all employees as is the ability to lift to 30 lbs. The work requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and some fine finger dexterity. Personal protective equipment is required and provided by Thrive Freeze Dry.
