GENERAL SUMMARY:

Directs the production/processing supervisors in a single production department on multiple shifts or across several departments on a single shift to assure cost-effective, on-time manufacture of quality products. (1st Processing - 3rd Shift)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs processing operations and personnel to meet established processing and quality control standards, to control budget and costs, and to provide data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products produced.

  • Establishes short-term activities directed toward processing continuity and balance such as shift schedules, ensuring requisition of materials, machine loading, grievance resolution, and equipment maintenance.

  • Coordinates and integrates with other plant function areas to ensure support in attaining output, productivity, and quality.

  • Selects, organizes, trains, and motivates processing labor force to ensure consistent attainment of processing schedules at optimum productivity and cost levels.

  • Recommends improvements in processing flow or methods.

  • Ensures effective use of operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and to improve product quality.

  • Recommends modification of machines and equipment in order to improve processing and quality of products.

  • Promotes a safe working environment for our employees.

  • Responsible for working relations between USDA and plant personnel.

  • Coordinate production between plant, grow out and other production facilities if needed.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE:

Typically requires 2 to 5 years of DIRECTLY RELATED experience.

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma (GED) required. Bachelors degree preferred.

This position is based at our Sumter, SC facility. This position is on 1st Shift (Monday-Friday), with occasional overtime and weekend work per business needs. The Production Associate will provide manufacturing expertise and support in all areas of the Panelboard Segment Team including, but not limited to, allocation of materials, assembly, inspection, testing, wiring, and shipping with the overall goal of timely order fulfillment and adherence to Eaton's quality standards. Receive information from team members regarding customer needs and product requirements and utilize this information to perform one's function. * You will exhibit strong analytical and problem solving skills so as to resolve any obstacles or delays that may occur in the production process. * You will perform Lean Initiatives by recommending suggestions for improvement related to quality, work processes, and environmental safety and health. * You will perform routine preventative maintenance when required to ensure peak performance of all manufacturing equipment. * You will correctly select and install various components/devices in accordance to drawings, diagrams, blueprints, travel documents, DMM system, manufacturing information, Kanban cards, hand drawn layout request, oral / written instructions. Position Criteria: * Must be able to lift a minimum of 35lbs with reasonable accommodation. Incumbent must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Repetitive lifting, bending, and squatting is inherent to this position. * Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem solving skills.
