As a Production Specialist, you will perform various tasks and duties in the facility. Initially you will work under close supervision as you learn the work types and special requirements that our clients demand. The Production Specialist receives materials, performs warehouse put-aways, sets up and execute projects, operates high-speed production printers and intelligent inserters, and mails personalized materials on behalf of our customers.

If so, this is what you will be doing: (This role will work 1st shift / Monday

  • Friday, from 4:00 AM CST to 12:30 PM CST)
  • Setup, operate, and troubleshoot equipment in production areas and accompanying procedures

  • Perform shipping, receiving, material handling, put-away, and picking of raw materials and finished goods per daily production schedules and service requirements

  • Execute job setup and production planning to meet demanding client deliverables

  • Escalate and help resolve production risks when identified

  • Meet or exceed expectations and take ownership for work completed

  • Recognize and resolve any discrepancies with the work or processes when encountered through thoughtful resolution, or escalation to senior experienced colleagues or management

  • Adhere to attendance policies and apply excellent time management throughout each production day

  • Maintain detailed production and service logs for all equipment

  • Use learning agility in a fast-paced, flexible production environment

  • Apply problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Demonstrate flexibility and encourage others to do same

  • Follow verbal and written guidance, including instructions from work orders and process guides

  • Communicate effectively and help create/maintain a professional environment

  • Work with accuracy, neatness and speed

  • Facilitate and maintain a clean and organized work environment

  • Follow and document maintenance requirements for all equipment in production areas

  • Establish, maintain, and promote effective working relationships with others

  • Provide effective and constructive feedback on processes and performance. Develop solutions to address any feedback received

  • Anticipate potential production bottlenecks or backlogs and provide solutions and creative ways to avoid delays

  • Perform on a moderately flexible work schedule (shift overtime or weekends during seasonal peaks and unplanned demand)

  • Work and develop in a diverse and inclusive environment

What you bring to the table:

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Basic computer skills (Excel, WORD, Outlook, Internet, etc.)

  • Experience with mechanical systems (assembly, repair, troubleshooting).

  • Willingness to quickly learn new processes and machines

  • Sense of urgency around your work

  • Accountable, honest, and works with integrity

  • Occasional flexibility in daily assignments and overtime requirements

  • Ability to work in a diverse and inclusive environment

  • Experience working in a team environment

Work Environment

  • Overtime required during peak delivery months (April, October, November-December). This varies with demand.

  • Fast-paced production environment. Alight will train across functions.

  • Air-Conditioned productions space, newly built out workspace (including Warehouse).
