About the Job
Our client, an innovative automotive manufacturing company, is seeking for talented individuals for an opportunity in the Greer, South Carolina area. This position is a long term contract position with the possibility of multi-year extensions and conversion to a full-time/permanent position.
Supports the area teams by leading transformation activities and facilitating improvements in the optimization of processes within existing production systems.
Introduces and develops shop floor processes which are delivered in a structured VPS approach setting a centralized standard. Increases production efficiency, reliability and stability support of production teams and solution of problems.
The primary function of the PSP is to apply the VPS / Continuous Improvement principles and tools to improve all processes. This must include injury reduction, waste reduction (including downtime), problem solving, cycle time improvements, production launch, etc.
General: PSP is responsible for process, and reports to a selected Section Manager. Acting as an expert / advisor for continuous improvement.
Candidates should be able to use: lean tools and methods (six sigma, green/black belt), problem solving skills, documentation, KPIs, process observations and LOP / EFQM Result & Enablers, CIPS, 6S, Waste / Non-Value, Cycle Times and Studies, Planning and Launch, process engineering, efficiency projects, waste reduction, bottleneck analysis, Kaizen and process optimization
Actively participates within the project organization in order to develop a functional and economic production process.
Assesses, investigates and validates product development concepts.
Implements strategic targets in the production process with regard to new technologies, innovations and business optimizations.
Administrates special projects in accordance with the assignment guidelines.
Analyzes facility cycle time and availability to include Model & option variants including short term actions to improve stability and reliability and long term plans to eliminate issues.
Steers Operator work standard, area layout, productivity improvements & idea sharing.
Facilitates Value Stream Analysis.
Interacts with Production Associates for improvement of current and implementation of new processes.
Supports shop floor to identify proper technique and bottlenecking.
Creates,updates and maintains documentation and layouts.
Interfaces and implement lessons learned from previous production phases.
Implements product change across ALL shifts and provide feedback to management.
Performs other duties as assigned by operations supervisor.
Education:BA/BS Degree or 4+ years' experience (automotive preferred).
2+ years knowledge of manufacturing including assembly techniques, problem solving skills and project planning.
Process optimization, process engineering, efficiency projects, 6S, waste reduction, bottleneck analysis, Kaizen, workshop facilitation, etc
Ability to lead a project.
Industrial Engineering Degree or experience,
3+ years of experience working for an automotive manufacturing company or supplier
