It is the primary responsibility of the Production Services Supervisor to supervise all details of assigned events to include audio visual equipment and operations, installation, rentals, outside services and entertainment, and ensure that events are completed on time, in budget and meet company standards.

  • Supervise the set up and tear down of equipment and services, provide direction to technicians and coordinate all audio visual requirements including permits, insurance and quality checks.

  • Create or review technical drawings as needed.

  • Supervise the installation of events, hire, schedule and supervise outside services and specialty labor, secure rentals, entertainment and photography, oversee crew leads and talent, ensuring a safe environment.

  • Understand Event Contact's vision, expectations, and needs of assigned events and act as first point of contact in their absence.

  • Anticipate and solve creative, installation, and/or timeline issues in conjunction with management to meet deadlines .

  • Stay current in design trends and vendor offerings; expand vendor base to grow new products.

  • Prepare Purchase Orders for services, and receive when complete. Verify invoices for payments.

  • Generate Profit/Loss statements for review and close project for invoicing.

  • Oversee rental load-in/out and setup/breakdown. Monitor rentals for damages and coordinate return shipments.

  • Communicate project status and timelines with internal departments, clients and vendors to maintain satisfaction.

  • Create a SHOW Service work environment promoting creativity, collaboration, teamwork, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction.

  • Actively promote MREP within the company and the events industry.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • At least 2 years of experience in the events industry, hospitality, or a related field.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Able to lead and mentor a team.

  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.

  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.


  • At least 2 years of experience in events, A/V, show/entertainment production or theater

  • 2 or 4 year degree in technical theater, event management or related industry

  • At least 2 years of supervisory, lead or equivalent experience.

VIEW JOBS 12/2/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-02T00:00 Location: National Harbor, Maryland Rigging Supervisor is responsible for supervising the set-up, operation, dismantling and striking of rigging and rigging equipment needed for clients' live events (i.e. corporate meetings, concert production, theatrical productions, special events, etc.) and can include rigging for video systems, audio systems, lighting systems, and scenery. Must review rigging drawings and loads to ensure we are within architectural specifications for all shows. All duties are to be performed in accordance with the departmental and National Harbor policies, practices, and procedures, as well as within the framework and intent of the National Harbor Core Service Standards. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: * Supervise rigging operations. * Collaborate with the Production Manager to create and manage emergency rescue plans. * Ensure that rigging systems function smoothly during performances. * Provide advice, recommendations and information on safety issues with regard to climbing equipment and working at height. * Protect the integrity of artistic concepts. * Supervise all aspects relating to artistic and structural rigging during load-in, performances, and load-out. * Ensure the safety of rigging equipment at all times. * Ensure the rigging team and technical personnel respect standards and regulations regarding the safety of rigging equipment, and apply safe work methods. * Inspect and maintain rigging equipment, and keep records of inspections and alterations. * Supervise personnel during the load-in and load-out of rigging equipment. * Assist the Production Team in handling technical or artistic issues; * Support procedures and requirements set by National Harbor with regard to managing equipment and stock. * Manage Human Resources responsibilities for the specifically assigned areas; create and maintain a work environment that promotes client service, teamwork, performance feedback, individual recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction ensuring quality hiring, training, and succession planning processes that encompass the company's diversity commitment. * Use the tools and procedures provided by National Harbor management team to manage inventory and equipment. * Other job-related duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: * High Riggers * Ground Riggers * Entertainment staff as assigned per event. * On call/ part time audio personnel. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Required: * College degree or equivalent training/certification in live entertainment or showroom production or equivalent work experience. * At least four (4) years professional experience as an Arena Rigger, and/or related entertainment and audio/visual experience, including minimum two (2) years' experience leading/supervising a crew/team in in the following areas: Stage Lighting, Sound, Rigging, Video and Scenic Set up. * High School diploma or GED equivalent * Effectively communicate in English, both oral and written forms Preferred: * Experience in the technical aspects of producing events * Previous experience working in a similar resort environment * ETCP Rigging Certification CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: * Valid drivers license * Proof of eligibility to work in the United States SECTION 3: COMPETENCIES & WORKING CONDITIONS KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: * Must have the ability to pay attention to detail and have strong interpersonal skills to handle clients, employees, and interdepartmental relationships. * Must be literate in Windows 95 and above, Excel, Word, Outlook, Autocad, and possess the ability to learn new software quickly. * Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time, have the ability to bend from the waist, reach over head, twist, kneel, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs. without restriction. * Must have the ability to maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while working under pressure. * Strong understanding of safe working loads, safety factors and rigging principles. * Fluency in English, both spoken and written is essential. * Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be exposed to environmental factors such as frequent hot and cold temperatures, smoke, dust, and other potentially harmful materials.
