FUNCTION
The function of the production scheduler is to utilize available capacity and inventory to effectively meet production requirements. The production scheduler works closely with Master Scheduler, material coordinators and applicable line supervisors to ensure tactical daily / weekly on-time execution of production schedules. Assists in addressing short term adjustments and coordinates with other departments as needed to ensure delivery of parts to line as per schedule. Maintains close monitoring of daily progress and ensures early issue identification / resolution.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist Master Scheduler in Schedule development and coordinate flow of work within or between departments to ensure on-time execution.
Maintain real-time oversight of daily execution to schedules / work orders, prioritizing and resolving potential or existing issues.
Working with Master Scheduler and Line Supervisors, make timely revisions to schedules as needed ensuring timely notification to customers when original commitments will not be met.
Prepare daily / weekly / monthly reports.
Ensure timely update to inventory records when discrepancies are identified.
Understand and make recommendations as needed to system order management / production parameters that affect ability to execute (e.g. cycle times, safety stock parameters, order management policy windows or flex percentages).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The mental and physical requirements for successful performance of this job are:
Ability to communicate (verbal and written) with multiple cross-functional contacts at various levels throughout the organization.
Ability to relate to others in a professional and courteous manner.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Working knowledge of core Microsoft products, most importantly Excel.
Introductory / basic ability to read / understand blueprints sufficient to ensure correct part presentation.
Working knowledge of ERP systems and ability to maintain applicable fields accurately.
