Position Summary:
This position is for an individual with a production planning background, preferably in a construction or customized production environment. The Scheduler plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and works closely with the production staff and Inventory Center manager to ensure timely delivery of product to our customer. Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed. This individual is a key member of the Inventory Center team.

Duties/Responsibilities of Position:

  • Schedules equipment and construction projects in order to meet customer demand including commercial and education projects.

  • Ensures that work orders created by sales department for production are complete and accurate to reflect all labor and bill of materials required for production prior to scheduling.

  • Coordinates inter-departmental activities to meet scheduled delivery dates.

  • Troubleshoots and modifies production schedules in response to production issues, materials shortages, change orders and/or "hot orders".

  • Select and allocate equipment using established criteria.

  • Work closely with the operations team on delivery of buildings and set-up to meet customer requirements

  • Works closely with purchasing to ensure materials are ordered for upcoming projects.

  • Perform some administrative and support functions for the production department

  • Develop and maintain relationships with other departments to support a cohesive team environment to serve the customer

  • Able to perform material and labor take-offs and understand reverse scheduling

  • Other duties as assigned

Position Specific Competencies/Skills Required:

  • Ability to prioritize actions and make decisions.

  • Excellent communication skills, including negotiation with internal customers

  • Prior experience in asset management

  • Excellent abilities to prioritize and adjust schedules and work teams

  • Computer literate with good basic computer skills in MS Office and other programs

Experience/Education Required/Desired:

  • Prior related experience with production scheduling and/or management required

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree desired, APICS certification a plus

  • Ability to communicate with internal customer's regarding work status and requirements in English; fluency in spoken Spanish preferred

  • Prior experience in the construction or related industry performing and leading general construction trades required.

  • Able to read Company's construction documents (provided in English) and provide guidance to construction team to complete necessary work; fluency in spoken Spanish preferred

  • Knowledge of current industry applicable building codes a plus.

  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing a plus

  • Ability to complete material and labor take offs from blue prints a plus

Special Considerations:

Position requires manual dexterity and the ability to maintain physical activity for most of the day

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and hold or lift a variety of objects

  • Able to carry, bend, stoop, turn, kneel, crawl, climb a ladder and other manual labor activities

Job Responsibilities * Fully supports operations of gas turbine generators, water treatment equipment, waste effluent treatment and high pressure steam production. * Accurately completes production records, maintains, and conforms to corporate Health, Safety and Environmental policies/procedures and relevant documentation at the facility. * Demonstrates identified skill sets in daily operational duties in monitoring operating performance and reporting to management in timely manner. * Actively pursuing own growth/career development through self-initiative practices; working with resources made available as coordinated with shift leads and manager. * Participates in operational/routine maintenance tasks within facility work group without interruption of customer product deliveries. * Fosters open communication among all facility technicians in relation to best practices, operational/facility needs, safety issues/concerns, conflicts of interest between shifts/other departments, sharing operational knowledge/expertise. * Assists/works closely with shift leader and manager with daily facility needs. * Generates work orders and ensures accurate/complete information in maintenance work orders. * Participate in shut downs, commissioning, and process improvement projects. * Keeps accurate records; diligent in documentation, record retention policies/procedures. * Determines if immediate maintenance action is required; documents it; reports to appropriate personnel. * Studying/maintaining site-specific standard operating procedures, P&IDs, PFDs, and all other technical documentation as it relates to operational/equipment processes. * Generating initial documentation for on-site contractor, vendor, guest, or visitor site-specific training needs. * Escorting on-site contractors, vendors, guests, or visitors throughout facility as needed; ensures their compliance with national safety policies/procedures. * Assist in on-site instrument calibration, laboratory testing of samples, and inventory of reagents. * Assist delivery of materials on-site, such as chemicals for water treatment, steam production, effluent treatment and general warehouse equipment. * Participation in facility safety meetings, inspections of on-site equipment to ensure compliance with requirements. * Able to work extended shifts or begin a shift early due to production needs. * Willing and able to work overtime as business needs dictate. Required Qualifications * High School diploma or GED * 2+ years of related industrial operations or maintenance experience or completion of a 2 year Process Technology Degree * Ability to work 12 hour rotating shifts. * Overall understanding of plant safety rules, regulations, company safety policies/procedures. * Performs all work in compliance with standard operating/maintenance procedures, utilizing current Life Saving Rules, Safe Start and safety requirements including safe work permits, energy control isolation, IDLs, confined space entry work, hot work, work plans, pre-job discussions, plant safety inspections, etc. * Acquiring knowledge/ability in all plant operations including processes/equipment. * Exhibits understanding of governmental regulations including environmental permitting/compliance, loading /quality assurance, basic electricity, national/local operating procedures, CMMS, maintenance management process, all HSE issues associated with the facility. * Exhibits mechanical ability. * Ability to learn/follow national/local standard operating procedures; follow through on instructions; work with minimal supervision; read/interpret blueprints, flow charts, process piping ISOs, simple schematics, P and IDs, electrical schematics. * Perform basic math operations. * Basic knowledge/understanding of control board, operating off of operator interface consoles (computer). * Basic computer (PC) skills; ability to use required software computer applications. * Must be able to wear required PPE safety equipment including, hardhat, safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, FRC clothing. * Must be able to lift 50lbs.
