Basic Function of Job

The Production Planner will be responsible for preparing and maintaining the production schedule based on lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders. Ensures that the production department has all the raw materials they need in order to fulfill the production schedule.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Analyzes distribution and production capacities and performs mathematical calculations to determine production schedule is attainable

  • Plans and schedules floor for each operation according to routings sequences and lead times

  • Adjusts production schedule as needed to meet customer expectations

  • Update ship schedules based on job status and shortages of manufactured and purchased parts

  • Release job orders to the shop floor and track inventory usage

  • Complete production reports on orders, inventory levels and forecast weekly and month levels of shipments

  • Meets with production supervisors to determine status of schedule / projects

  • Ensures production plan supports sales plan and inventory targets (lead times, lot sizes, safety stock, etc.)

  • Participate in Department/Production specific projects

  • Communicate concerns regarding manufacturing performance issues as necessary

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced ever changing environment

  • Follow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

  • 3 years' experience in production planning, production scheduling and inventory planning and Bachelor's degree or 7 years' experience in production planning, production scheduling and inventory planning

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, peers, and customers

  • Strong analytical skills, process oriented and ability to develop actionable plans

  • Ability to identify issues and take corrective/preventative actions

  • Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with others related to learning, problem solving, back-up support and fostering team support

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and email programs

  • Must demonstrate flexibility to changing priorities, deadlines, demands and assignments as needed.

Value added skills

  • SAP experience

  • An understanding of lean-manufacturing principles

MONTHLY BONUS PAY-OUTBenefits: Eligible after 30 days (Med, Den, Vision and more) The opportunity:Maintenance Technician to perform routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on electrical and mechanical systems involving production equipment and plant systems. How you will impact WestRock: Performs skilled and semi-skilled maintenance activities depending upon area of assignment including performing basic trade activities such as electrical, plumbing and carpentry work Performs minor and major repair of all buildings and equipment. Repairs electrical equipment/systems and control circuits; and replaces faulty electrical equipment as needed. This troubleshooting element is inclusive of Three Phase Motors and Programmable Logical Controls (PLC) applications Must have a strong working knowledge of relay logic and be capable of applying this knowledge in the troubleshooting of the PLC’s in the production equipment Must have a strong understanding of NFPA 70E standards and be capable of applying these standards in the work situation. Installs electrical wiring and equipment; new electrical services; and replaces and repairs wiring as needed (including computer cable). Maintains and repairs a variety of hand and power tools ensuing they are in safe and efficient working order. Performs preventive maintenance procedures on mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis; inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, seals, etc.; repairs or replaces broken parts. May operate a computer which controls and monitors mechanical equipment and utility systems. Calibrates and repairs pneumatic systems and other mechanical systems on production equipment to assure optimum performance of that production process Completes daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures Maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures Performs other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager or another member of the leadership team.
