The Production Planner / Scheduler will report to the Production Control Manager

Job Responsibilities:

  • Establish realistic capabilities based on operational input and historical data

  • Monitor and revise production schedules based upon load plan and work with the scheduling team to meet WIP targets and downstream requirements

  • Monitor execution of production schedules through relevant work centers of focus and provide reports as required to track production progress

  • Work in conjunction with Production Department Managers and/or area Supervisors to establish recovery plans for order backlog conditions

  • Assist with processing customer expedites

  • Track and publish on time delivery performance

  • Participate in production meetings providing input in (overtime) utilization

  • Monitor and maintain stock levels for key customer stock accounts

  • Ability to establish and maintain a positive and effective professional working relationship with all internal customers

Key Requirements:

  • 1-3 years related experience in a manufacturing environment

  • College degree preferred with three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Ability to communicate effectively, Good verbal communications skills a plus

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point

  • Database knowledge preferred - AS400, SAP, or Oracle a plus

  • Efficiency in establishing priorities, availability of labor, material, machines and equipment to meet internal & external targets.

  • Strong analytical and computer skills

  • Team player; ability to work as a team; Self-starter; Adaptable to change

  • Ability to prioritize needs

  • Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of the workforce. An effective trainer and presenter with a "people" focus.

Schedule preventive maintenance tasks base on a computerized maintenance management system. Complete/follow up on system generated work orders. Report expenses against budget for expense accounts. Essential Job Functions * Run work order due reports and schedule preventative maintenance tasks for production equipment. - Maintain accurate preventative maintenance work order information and instructions and update on a periodic basis. - Evaluate spare parts consumption and establish accurate re-order levels. - Identify what parts should be designated as critical by equipment and keep this information updated. - Perform periodic physical inventory and make sure computerized inventory matches with physical inventory. Restock parts room and ensure all designated critical spare parts are present in inventory at all times. - Verify equipment/parts/services are received and ensure all invoices are accounted for and submitted to accounting with proper approval. - Weekly check on-the-floor inventory of all production supplies and ensure these items are available at all times. - Reorder and restock production supply closets and cabinets located at various areas of the plant. - Receive purchase requisitions, verify description/quantity/pricing, and obtain required approvals. - Issue POs for parts and supplies from JD Edwards system for line maintenance, production, quality and compounding departments. Place orders and expedite. - Physically receive parts and supplies, verify quantities received and enter paper receipts into JD Edwards system. - Maintain records for all POs (approved copy of POs and invoices). - Review and copy all invoices, make sure they are routed to the correct person and are signed and returned to accounting department in a timely manner. - Periodic updates to expense tracker for expenses related to line maintenance supplies and parts. - Complete local parts pick-up as needed using company vehicle. - Perform and document PM audits out on manufacturing floor. Non-essential Job Functions - Clean and organize parts room. - Provide pricing options and supplier options to management as requested. - Audit plant floor for stock levels.
