Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Decatur AL Oils refinery operations scheduling. Job scope includes day to day leadership of hourly personnel and operators functioning in a high performance team environment. Ensuring a safe work culture and environment, driving cost savings and productivity, ensuring proper staffing, meeting and improving employee and Food safety performance exceeding customer expectations.

Essential Functions:

  • Promote safety by driving a zero incident culture ensuring the safety of all employees, contractors, and visitors.

  • Ensure plant is compliant with all corporate safety policies.

  • Be an effective safety leader engaging in Bunge Oils safety discussions and initiatives.

  • Executes good manufacturing practices while promoting a safe working environment and maintaining sanitation standards (GMP and HAACP) through the supervision of all phases of the production process.

  • Practices basic principles of good people management to build and develop teams for maximum efficiency and responsiveness.

  • Continually identifies and implements short and long term cost savings opportunities, in the areas of refinery operations that do not compromise quality

  • Facilitates good communication by regularly informing management of significant operational issues, changes and recommendations

  • Participates in food safety inspections including interacting with plant QA, regulatory agencies, Rabbis and external auditors

  • Participate and sustain productivity activities.

  • Direct production activities to produce quality oil, meet customer product requirements and ensure timely shipments schedule.

  • Ensure that the facility goal of no injuries is that of all employees.

  • Coach the concept of continuous improvement that optimizes costs and efficiencies, and set an example that represents Bunge's values.

  • Schedule production processes and run rates in the refinery.

  • Blend and adjust products to fit customer requirements.

  • Schedule and order ingredients for use in the refinery.

  • Schedule rail and barge shipments for both loading and unloading.

  • Work closely with logistics coordinator to schedule truck pickups and provide vacation relief for this position.

  • Track and schedule inbound oils.

  • Manage railcar fleet for both inbound and outbound oils.

  • Work closely with Supply Chain Manager and operation superintendent, supervisors and operators as needed for training as well as troubleshoot production issues.

  • Monitor finished oil quality to ensure it meets Bunge's specifications.

  • Implement Bunge's safety policies and procedures.

  • Monitor the refinery efficiencies to maximize yields and minimize cost.

  • Commitment of time to problem solve issues outside of the regular workday schedule, including off-shifts and weekends

  • Holds self and other accountable for performance standards and expectations.

  • Accepts responsibility for the scheduling process.

  • Any other duties as assigned.

Skill/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum three+ years demonstrated experience in a related role

  • Demonstrate ability to work safely and to promote safe work practices in others

  • Strong leadership skills with proven track record of developing high performance teams.

  • Ability to work collaboratively on teams with other managers, supply chain professionals, sales and commercial, and engineering both internal and external to the facility.

  • Knowledge of Refinery operations for Edible Oils preferred.

  • Proven ability to manage, develop, motivate and train employees.

  • Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Work, and PP), SAP and other technical software applications.

  • Demonstrated Mechanical aptitude.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills

  • Candidate must be friendly, collaborative, intelligent and hard working.

Manufacturing production workers perform assembly operations requiring frequent handling of heavy parts and will be trained to operate and/or adjust production equipment. Manufacturing production workers will be required to switch between various production job assignments, and job assignments may rotate. Manufacturing production workers also must be willing to perform work in a team environment – adhering to all attendance and safety rules, regulations & equipment requirements. What you will Do PRIMARY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES: The Manufacturing Production Worker performs repetitive line assembly operations to produce product by performing the following duties: The Production Worker will be responsible for, but not be limited to the following: * Operate on the line interacting and cooperating with other team members to complete job tasks on different models of the same product moving along the line. * Assemble components accurately, thoroughly and quickly to approved specifications. * Apply and follow all standardized work and operating instructions. * Utilize wide range of powered-hand tools to assembly check, adjust or repair appliances. * Various general assembly activities required including: driving screws and/or assembling other fasteners; applying tape, insulation or other materials; assembling/fastening wire harnesses, terminating wires; checking, adjusting, or repairing sub or final assemblies; testing and/or packaging of sub or final assemblies. * Inspect work to verify quality and conformance to required specifications. * Complete production and performance by following all policies and practices to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost including, but not limited to: required personal protective equipment, identifying/reporting unsafe working conditions; attention to detail - identifying and reporting quality issues found through in-line checking and reporting of critical appearance defects for resolution. * Complete daily 5S requirements. * Must be able to perform the above essential job functions job with or without an accommodation. JOB REQUIREMENTS: * High School Diploma or GED with at least year of production or assembly experience, or equivalent experience and education. * Experience assembling mechanical components. * Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions. * Dependability and good attendance record including timely arrival for work. * Effective English language and verbal communication skills, including interacting with others. * Requires attention and adherence to safety and quality guidelines at all times. * Must be able to work any shift and work overtime as required. * Must be willing to cross train and rotate between various production assignments as required. What you need to Succeed JOB QUALIFICATIONS: * Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment. * Constant standing with frequent walking and occasional sitting. * Frequently lifting/carrying various parts for assembly – up to 42 lbs. * Occasional pushing/pulling – up to 35 lbs. * Constant grasping, squeezing, pinching with both hands. * Constant reaching overhead, at shoulder level, below the waist at knees, and at floor level. * Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, and/or crouching. * Occasional pivoting, twisting, and neck extension/rotation. * Occasionally stair / ladder climbing. * Frequent neck twisting, pivoting and rotation. * Must be able to work with parts/equipment which may be hot, cold, and/or wet. * Must be able to access required areas pertaining to job including, but not limited to: foam rooms, chemicals, high noise, and other areas of the plant.
