Overview

A Release Manager is responsible for the process of managing, planning, scheduling and controlling a software release through different stages and environments; including testing and deploying software releases.

Job Description

  • Assist product management and project teams manage and deploy releases into production

  • Implement and manage release processes for application related updates through development, test, and production environments

  • Focus on coordinating various aspects of production and projects into one integrated solution

  • Interface and communicate with Test Managers, Dev Managers, IT Ops and the PMO

  • Build the IT Release Calendar in working closely with the IT release managers from different portfolios across the Loan Production environment and centralize view of all releases

  • Coordinate release content and effort based on the service request backlog, pending service requests, third party applications

  • Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations and vendors

  • Conduct Release Readiness Reviews, Milestones reviews and business Go/No Go reviews

  • Review deployment plans, rollback plans, resource plans, communication plans

  • Weekly Release reporting

  • Communicate release details and schedules to the business as needed

  • Negotiate, plan and manage all release activities

  • Continually look for making improvements in the release process

  • Participate and coordinate the Go live activities including the execution of the deployment Plans and checklists

  • Participate in the CAB meetings to discuss and review release scopes and/or roadblocks as needed

  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

  • Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization's desired culture and values

  • Vendor Release Management and negotiations

  • Coordination with Vendor support teams during planning and execution windows

  • Lead multiple teams in collating strategies and plans for releases

  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and mathematical skills, using sound judgment

  • Financial Services and, if possible, mortgage industry experience preferred

  • Strong business acumen and ability to interface with executive management

This person may also work remotely in a 100% Remote Work Environment. Responsible to lead a SAFe Release Train of 15 scrum teams for the IT Marketing program in the Enterprise Digital Technology organization. Marketing is an Enterprise program going through a large, multi-year, technical transformation where you will have an opportunity to significantly impact organizational growth and effectiveness through delivering best in class technology solutions. Responsible for ensuring teams and programs live Agile values and principles and follows processes and practices that the teams agree they will use within Agile (i.e. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.) frameworks to self-organize while delivering value to customers. The Scrum Master is a servant leader and champions the Agile mindset through effective guidance, coaching, education and through removal of impediments to team progress. This role is responsible for building high-performing teams focused on constantly improving team dynamics and performance.
