Responsible for the overall daily activities of their assigned projects on the production floor, the system performance during pre-FAT testing and the FAT testing of the system.

Principal duties:

  • Report to the Production Manager on their projects overall status for "on time" delivery of a quality product.

  • Prepare Projects on the production floor for electro-mechanical assembly once the materials are transferred from the materials group to the production floor.

  • Lead the electro-mechanical assembly phase of the project by delegating prioritized to tasks to the assembly team.

  • Lead the setup phase by prioritizing tasks and communicating these tasks to the cross-functional team with regards to system setup.

  • Support the production schedules that outline dates for start, finish, pre-FAT, FAT, etc.

  • Interface with customers during visits, FATs, etc. and project a professional and positive image on behalf of the company

  • Define parts leftover from the project into four categories Customer Requested Changes, Application Required Changes, Manufacturing Issues and or Engineering Related Changes.

  • Team with project engineers to troubleshoot assembly, electrical, software issues

  • Redline drawings to indicate modifications/as-built


  • Solid knowledge of equipment we produce

  • Good general knowledge of automation controls, system mechanics and setup

  • Ability to support debug efforts with production and engineering staff

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work with little supervision

  • Efficiently lead projects to completion

  • Capable of displaying positive leadership traits that result in a united team

  • Reading and interpreting technical mechanical part drawings and assemblies

  • General understanding and ability to read electrical schematics


  • 5+ years of experience in a related role in a similar industry and having had increasing levels of responsibility in Project Leadership

  • Training in lean or 5S or other contemporary manufacturing techniques


  • 2 year degree preferred

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * The project manager ensures that each project is completed in a timely manner on schedule, within budget, and meets all technical and financial standards, regulatory compliance requirements, and customer expectations. * Coordinating all contract activities from the project award stage to completion of the elevator and escalator modernizations and provide a progress review of projects to ensure that contract documents are consistent with the required scope of the project * Communicate directly with multiple representatives of the general contractors, owners, building managers, architects and designers, also State and Local authorities and regulatory agencies concerning project design, preparations, and scheduling of installation for the equipment * Candidate will also work closely with the internal sales staff, modernization superintendents and senior leadership to ensure a successful project from both the financial and customer perspectives * Candidate will be required to periodically work on job sites * Candidate should be versed in contract writing and administration, and will perform customary construction process duties that include managing billing, consultant and contractors' payments, processing RFIs and optimizing change order opportunities, as well as maximizing project cash coverage. EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's degree required; degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or business administration preferred. * Elevator experience or related construction project management experience preferred. * Knowledge of the principals of cost estimating, scheduling and contract administration. * Ability to accurately interpret construction contractual documents and contract modifications to determine cost of such change. * Accurately analyze situations and assist in developing contingencies for estimates. * Ability to read and review architectural and structural drawings. * Must possess proficient oral and written communication and presentation skills and be able to communicate effectively with wide variety of people with diverse background of all levels and disciplines. * Must be able to develop and maintain positive, cooperative, team-oriented relationships with co-workers, supervisors, managers, clients and others in contact with the job.
