Basic Function
Reporting to the Manager, Blending & Terminal Operations, and based out of Red Giant Oil Company, LLC (RGO) in Joshua, Texas, the Production Planning Specialist is a key member of the Blending and Terminal operations team. This position is responsible for production planning of the RGO operation based on inventory requirements and actual orders to meet customers' needs. A key component of this role is to have all additives and components available to blend while minimizing working capital. As well, this position is responsible for replenishment planning for all stocking locations with products produced in Joshua, Texas. This position is not eligible for relocation benefits.
Job Duties
Reviews inventory position of all stocking locations for products produced in Joshua, Texas
Plans replenishment of railroad engine oil to all Red Giant Oil bulk stocking locations
Plans replenishment for all PCA products produced in Joshua, Texas
Reviews all base oil and additive requirements for blending operations and initiates purchases to maintain desired inventory levels
Generates and publishes monthly blending plan for operations to execute
Responsible for bill of material switches as required for products produced at Joshua, Texas
Supports inventory reconciliation for Red Giant Oil and PCA products at Joshua, Texas plant and Red Giant Oil bulk stocking locations
Develops and maintains strategic alliances with these key internal stakeholders: Sales, Marketing, R&D, BI, and Refinery and Plant personnel
Develops and implements synergy opportunities between HF Sinclair business units
Develops relationships with key business owners to understand the short and long-term goals and needs of the business related to our global supply chain for blending as well as network distribution
Collaborates and works cross functionally with Global Logistics, Accounting, Operations, Supply and Planning, Transportation and Global Inventory Optimization teams to deliver goals and priorities
Identifies, develops, and implements sustainable improvements in planning and processes
Set up POs for capital projects and ensure alignment with accounting that funds are routed properly
Works with Supply and Planning on intercompany pricing for RGO supply and products
Responsible for railcar billing and fleet management
Updates monthly pricing and PCA billing for Joshua
Monitors, analyzes, and assists in the implementation of corrective action on key performance measures
Provides support to other members of the production planning and inventory control team as required
Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion
Experience
5+ years of experience in role(s) that require analytics, problem solving, critical thinking and working with key stakeholders. Experience in a manufacturing plant preferred.
Education
A Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Business or Engineering preferred. A combination of post-secondary education and relevant work experience may be considered.
Required Skills
Strong strategic mindset and business acumen. Understands HF Sinclair strategies, priorities and linkages between GSC and other business areas (Marketing and R&D, Sales, BI, and the Plant)
Strong relationship building skills and ability to form partnerships with third party service providers and work with internal and external stakeholders.

Demonstrated interpersonal and non-authoritative leadership (NAL) skills
Ability to multi-task and make decisions with limited information available.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to learn quickly, adapt to frequent changes, and to be versatile.
Computer literacy, specifically in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, as well as SAP, and Business Warehouse (BW)
Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to develop effective internal and external networks is essential.
Good knowledge of the Change Management system and related PLCs process to support Marketing initiatives
Problem solving and root cause analysis skills with a continuous improvement mindset

Working conditions are typically not strenuous in terms of physical or sensory demands, although located in a refinery environment
Mental stress and pressure may occur to meet tight deadlines imposed by the business
Both national and international travel could be required from time to time

Job conditions require standing, walking, sitting, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, lifting or carrying up to 25 lbs., pushing or pulling up to 25 lbs., perceiving color differences. Job conditions may require twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching or grasping, and working in confined spaces as permitted.
