Job Description:
The Production Planning Manager leads the production planning process in Yorba Linda to meet On Time Delivery and Inventory targets. The incumbent owns the Production Planning Process, purchasing of the supporting materials for the Manufacturing of finshed goods. The function will work effectively together with Global Supply Chain functions, local site functions to ensure that tools, processes and system solutions are managed to monitor, control and inventory levels of raw materials, components and finished goods thus improving visibility planning and consistently deliver high service levels striving for excellence in order fulfillment and on time delivery. The Production Planning Manager will develop and lead local team of Production Planners and Material handlers.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
To centrally own, manage and continuously improve the production planning process by following Heijunka planning principle. This entails daily monitoring of scheduling operations (release orders, scheduling, sequencing, prioritizing and level loading).
To be responsible for the raw material and component product availability, inventory turns, supply chain lead-time and total inventory value for the North American Manufacturing location
To monitor, maintain and improve the Master Data Management of the assortment controlled by Production Planning and Purchasing
Responsible for Key Performance Indicators (KPI) targets linked to CVD and targets related to the plant
Initiate and complete the scrapping of products as well as owning the central organization part of the scrapping process
Contribute to the mid term and long term planning
Liaise with managers to anticipate their demand for goods and materials. Develop plans, cost estimates, and schedules for integrating these needs into existing purchasing activities.
Initiate improvement initiatives by elaborating on EBS tools such as Daily Management, PSP, VSM, TPI, KanBan
Responsible for optimizing the administration of logistics management functions for both raw materials & finish products
Job Requirements:
EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business economics or equivalent or 5+ years of Production Planning experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment in lieu of education
3+ years of Planning Manager or Supply Chain Manager experience
Must have Leadership/Management experience, leading teams.
Must reside within a commutable distance to Yorba Linda, CA.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Strong organization skills i.e. a well-organized and structured individual
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, ability to interact with management and to collaborate with peers and other functions
Develop skills (CP) within EBS toolbox to support CI culture and to drive performance.
Strong knowledge of Production Planning processes and systems e.g. SAP/ECC/APO
Experience from working in matrix organizations across multiple geographies.
