Job Description:

  • Primary responsibility is reviewing shortages, tracking incoming material and reporting on status.

  • Expedites material through receiving, inspection and stock, to the line. Works closely with stockroom and VC stock personnel.

  • Assist with maintaining inventory transactions.

  • Put replenishment scans through the system as material is needed on the line.

  • Assist with administrative functions of planning, including BOM set-ups, job releasing and shop floor paperwork creation.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior production planning experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 of years prior production planning experience

  • Minimum of 2 years materials experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of MS office experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with internal customers

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Ability to effectively communicate with multiple groups

  • Operations, planning and stockroom knowledge

  • Knowledge of Excel, Oracle and PickPro

  • Sense of Urgency

What will you do? * The production planning manager takes the demand plan and develops the supply plan using capacity modelling and MRP, ensuring the lowest cost of ownership model for the business. * Effort results in an action plan for constraints and a Master Production Schedule for the site scheduling team to execute. * This is a supervisory role which will typically be for a single site or number of smaller sites. * The job encounters recurring work situations of diverse scope and moderate to high complexity with frequent variations from the norm. * Requires the ability to quickly respond to changing needs by reallocating and/or managing resources accordingly. * Ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required. * Accuracy is required in performing all functions of this position; errors in work could result in significant production delays, insufficient or overstocked inventory levels, additional costs, and dissatisfied customers. * Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies, working on problems of relatively moderate scope and complexity. * Generally determines appropriate action for routine to diverse scope and moderate to high complexity problems, by independently referencing operating policies and procedures and using proven approaches. * Directs and controls the activities of the planning and scheduling team. * Has contact with all levels of company employees. * Negotiates and exchanges information with all levels of management. * Receives technical and functional input as appropriate. * This position requires the ability to motivate others and set operational objectives. * Provides guidance to others and provides direct supervision and serve as departmental leader. * Manage and optimize the Make to Stock, Make to Order processes, and planning work instructions, and data standards. * Develop processes and procedures for the function of production planning globally. * Provide training to staff on production planning, MRP, capacity modelling. * Serve as system expert for ERP, scheduling, capacity modelling. * Lead the development and execution of a business supply plan and capacity modelling. * Create and manage a capacity model for assigned business units/product lines. * Create a master production schedule for assigned business units/product lines. * Create, manage, and maintain all manufacturing planning data, such as order policy, value order policy, freeze fence, reorder points, leadtime, EOQ, WIP, BOM & Routings. * Lead planning efforts to optimize the manufacturing engine. * Responsible for metrics associated with inventory to plan, manufacturing cycle time, DNSA scrap, FGs inventory, and Capacity utilization.
