Production Planner

(Contract opportunity)

We are looking for a qualified Production Planner to organize production according to demand and quality standards. This position will manage day-to-day operations including, but not limited to: manufacturing, planning, purchasing, inventory and logistics. The person that will be successful in this role will be both self-directed and team oriented, highly organized, have strong communication and negotiating skills, possess a can-do attitude and dedication to the organization's goals and success. An excellent production planner is well-versed in production procedures and ways to optimize them. They are organized and results-driven with great problem-solving skills. Advanced communication and computer skills are very useful for the role.

The goal is to ensure the smooth and cost-efficient flow of production operations.



  • Coordinate production workflow for one or multiple products

  • Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay

  • Run weekly open order reports/review results/prepare for meetings (production facilities and assembly facilities)

  • Determining manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand

  • Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption

  • Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives etc.)

  • Prepare and submit status and performance reports

  • Manage production schedules and update reports

  • Coordinate internally to manage forecasts and update reporting

  • Run weekly plan inventory coverage (PIC)

  • Run MRP/Economic Model and place requisitions for approval

  • Run daily requisition report

  • Manage PO add and delete requests

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely PO's for launches

  • Monitor aged inventory and create plan to consume or work with accounting to initiate destruction.

  • Create PO's per approved requisitions and validate artwork and specifications

  • Open work-orders

  • Collect assay documents

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years' experience in manufacturing industry in process manufacturing and/or distribution.

  • Expertise with purchase, manufacturing and logistics contracts, scope of service agreements, shipping docs and other industry standard documentation.

  • Proven experience as production planner

  • Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles

  • Experience in MRP II (Manufacturing resource planning)

  • Good at math and statistics

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication abilities

  • Experience and proficiency with MS Office/EXCEL and ERP/MRP software.

  • Education: 4-year college degree in related field of study preferred.

The Production Planner will ensure goods manufactured by employer are produced in a cost-effective way that meets quality specifications. Makes sure that goods are ready to distribute to customers in a timely fashion. Improves a company's production and distribution processes. Ensures the production and distribution of products runs smoothly.
