Overview
The Production Planner will work under the general direction of the Inventory Control Supervisor and will be responsible for daily, weekly, monthly, and semi-annual tasks across Sales, Shipping, Production, Purchasing, and Inventory Management that align with the Scheduling Department goals. The Production Planner must be a detail-oriented individual who can maintain operational efficiency while ensuring high standards of quality and internal customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
Daily Tasks:
Setup work orders for production based on current needs.
Coordinate with Quality Assurance to initiate rework work orders for cut-pipe, water testing, or reworking pipe.
Generate purchase orders and production orders for items completed by third-party vendors.
Communicate effectively with vendors regarding back orders and product availability.
Address customer service inquiries regarding product availability.
Reconcile production discrepancies promptly.
Trace and validate inventory movement from inception to completion within the ERP system.
Troubleshoot ERP system errors as they arise.
Ensure data integrity across ERP system for finished goods and assemblies.
Coordinate and schedule trucking logistics through Mercury Gate for product transfers.
Prepare Value Pack reports detailing fittings required for epoxy coating.
Weekly Tasks:
Enter production orders accurately and timely.
Provide production schedules to Production Administration for fittings and pipe.
Update requirements for epoxy-coated pipe and fittings.
Conduct weekly meetings with the sales team to discuss operational updates and customer requirements.
Monthly Tasks:
Close out completed work orders.
Assess work-in-progress (WIP) work orders to optimize efficiency and resource allocation.
Semi-Annually / Yearly Tasks:
Review and update minimum stock levels for inventory.
Provide updated purchase costs to accounting for financial reporting and cost analysis.
All Times:
Demonstrate a dedication to safety by wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) when entering and working in the plant.
Keep work area clean, safe, and orderly.
Complete other duties as assigned by the Inventory Control Supervisor
Qualifications
Proven experience in operations coordination or a related field.
Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory management principles.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills, capable of managing diverse tasks simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Willingness to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when entering and working in the plant.
