ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform activities to plan, schedule and coordinate production of all assemblies and finished goods using Master Production Scheduling techniques based on review and analysis of inventory positions, production schedules, sales-analysis forecasts, and safety stocks

  • Coordinate and expedite production with department managers; monitor production against schedules

  • Attend daily production meetings and communicate changes in schedules to all affected manufacturing staff including purchasing and tooling where appropriate

  • Coordinate with Customer Service regarding delivery promises, new customer orders, past due orders and customer inquiries

  • Revise/write shop orders as required to implement Engineering Change Notices (ECNs); communicate task completion to engineering

  • Adjust/write shop orders for production rejections in accordance with NMR disposition

  • Analyze machine capacity; standard run size, safety stock requirements and manufacturing/shipping part processing each month

  • Coordinate with Purchasing Agent to ensure on-time delivery of bulk parts to meet customer need

  • Schedule vendor processing, inspection, and packaging.

  • Manage MPS module of EMS including adding new parts and maintaining forecasts

  • Coordinate change-over dates on part transitions with shipping department

  • Schedule sample jobs (E-jobs) and monitor progress as appropriate

  • Schedule production of prototype parts for engineering and R&D work and monitor progress as appropriate

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4 year degree in relevant field. 3-5 years previous manufacturing experience in a Production Control environment.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to analyze total marketplace and source components Possess analytical ability Computer literate with strong spreadsheet analysis skills.

The Senior Transportation Manager is responsible for managing and supervising the day to day operations of the Transportation Department. It is essential that all goals and objectives are completed in a safe an efficient manner leading to a profitable organization. The Senior Transportation Manager manages all inbound shipment activities including directing internal transportation/logistics staff as assigned and working with carriers, buyers, 3PL's and vendors to meet prescribed service levels while managing our costs. Responsible for ongoing negotiations with carriers of various modes for all lanes within our supply chain, performing cost analysis and making recommendations to the leadership. Identify and develop contacts to increase the Hibbett For Hire Business and assist in developing the business. Oversee vendor compliance as it relates to transportation. In addition, the Senior Transportation Manager will be responsible for providing suggestions to the leadership on strategic and tactical management of the transportation department. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Works with the Director of Transportation on maximizing utilization of transportation resources and minimizing logistical cost that will allow the company to keep its competitive edge through logistics and distribution excellence. * Reasonable for developing and managing transportation strategy based on company vision, values, goals, and objectives. * Provide strong leadership, guidance and development for the transportation team. * Fully manage the freight bid proposals for all modes and negotiate rates. * Meet regularly with active carrier representatives and potential carriers/brokers to review their performance and business offerings. * Provide leadership in developing Hibbett For Hire Business to maximize fleet empty miles while securing backhaul income. * Work with Fleet Operations Manager to maximize use of the private fleet for Hibbett vendor backhauls and increase inbound efficiency. * Perform cost analysis of operation and make recommendations to improve efficiency to obtain established goals. * Directly supervise the Logistics/Transportation team as assigned in carrier selection for all lanes. * Systematically review carrier selection decisions and provide training for Load Planners in maximizing available cubic capacity of fleet and carriers. * Provide future volume projections to carriers as practicable. * Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of information to the DC Operations team regarding inbound freight, launch, changes in schedules and exceptions. * Manage the communication with vendors, carriers and brokers as necessary to resolve any issues associated with scheduling, performance or compliance. * Develop and maintain Inbound Logistics processes (SOP's) to maximize team performance, efficiency and safety. * Ensure accurate reporting and documentation of compliance issues to internal compliance contact. * Regular physical attendance is essential for the performance of the job. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervises 5 to 8 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
