We are looking for a Production Planner II to manage signage projects and fixture projects for the Procurement team. This includes quoting and awarding of jobs with preferred print suppliers and fixture manufacturers. This position will interface with the Sales, Fixture Design, Marketing, Space Planning and fixture suppliers to launch new fixture and marketing print initiatives.


  • Manage custom fixture design projects for retailer specific fixture initiatives from start to finish.

  • Track project timelines to ensure key milestones and in-store dates are met for new fixture rollouts and signage refreshes

  • Partner with marketing and creative services to execute display signage including but not limited to new artwork design and resizing existing signage.

  • Secure legal, internal and external partner approvals for art proofs

  • Managing vendors through the production and fulfillment process

  • Manage 3rd party signage printing vendors (estimates, proofs, printing, delivery)

  • Secure legal, internal and external partner approvals for art proofs

  • Setting up and creating BOMs for new fixtures and new signage initiatives.

  • Monitors cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value

  • Initiate or review process documentation to determine areas of improvement

  • Advise and lead internal clients to alternate solutions regarding lead times, cost and execution

  • Work with our internal ERP and associated project management tools and workflow systems to support daily tasks and projects

  • Plans, schedules and monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle to determine required materials purchases

  • Ensures material standards are met and non-conformances or variances are approved and/or minimized

  • Manage and communicate current inventory needs with internal clients

  • Resolves problems between internal and external clients in ways that maintain positive relationships

  • Focus on delivering excellent service to internal and external customers


  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years' experience in project management or procurement

  • Proficient in buying principles and knowledgeable in the bidding process

  • Knowledge of print production and industry standards for signage print materials preferred

  • Experience managing client relationships and implementing projects

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong project management skills, working collaboratively with internal clients and drives deadlines

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ability to do pivot tables and v-lookups in excel preferred.

  • Knowledge of ERP Systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics

  • Familiarity with QuickBase preferred

  • Demonstrates initiative, innovates new processes and drives ideas to fruition

  • Ability to work in an entrepreneurial atmosphere that requires a large variety of tasks and duties

  • Possess a high degree of self-motivation and resourcefulness

  • Can work independently but understand when to escalate or ask for support

  • Comfort with complex, intangible product concepts that are not totally developed

  • Excellent problem recognition and resolution skills

  • Strong Customer service skills and client focused orientation

  • Experienced in creating and managing Bills of Material

  • Familiar with Process Improvement techniques

  • Ability to prioritize and manage numerous demands and projects while working independently with minimal supervision under rigid time constraints

  • Ability to travel less than 20% of time.

Position Summary and Key Responsibilities: * The principal objective of the DRP Planner is to ensure that we have the correct inventory available of finished goods in the correct place at the correct time, while optimizing inventory levels with regards to backorders, inventory and stock write offs. This should be achieved by establishing KPI's alongside implementation of continuous process improvements, improved data integrity, solid operating mechanisms and close collaboration with key partners along the global supply chain. * The incumbent encounters varying work situations, involving moderate complexity, considerable independent judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations. The incumbent must demonstrate judgment, tact and diplomacy in dealing with internal and external customers.
